yeah, i opened again one of my most favorite franchises from my childhood and i absolutely have no regrets, kids. so i make this post about my absolute favs (btw i like almost all Peyo characters for how well they are written, even evil ones and i like them also ;)

BUT! today we are talking about my most favorite ones! and yesss there is a lot of points so i decided to cut it down to the most important.

AND ALSO! i took 1981 series, movies and comic books versions of characters AND NOT new 2021 series or 2025 movie

papa smurf!!

ABSOLUTE №1 SMURF AND JUST A COOL PAPA 🔥🔥🔥🦅🔥🦅🔥 ahahahhaha, first of all i love him for his character! he's very kind and polite to everyone and at the same time he can always defend his family*, put his little smurfs back in line, when they are doing something wrong and forgive them quickly. i love that he can be both - he knows how to hang out and how to be strict and wise. that's exactly why I love him! yes, of course he can be rough, but it makes sense. He also has flaws (which are justified), but that makes him feel alive, not like an angel. What else can I say? I literally built my personality on this guy :D

I REALLY LIKE HIS VOICE IN RUSSIAN DUB (the whole franchise, but mostly 1981 series dub) AND FRENCH DUB (1973 film)! i'm like "yes this is exactly how he must sound!" a bit soft and yet a little raspy voice (russian 1981 series dub) + good low voice for the later films and cartoons. but in the french 1973 dub? it honestly sounds like he's meowing a little actually hihihi (+ both voice actors are great! the voice is not too deep or too high for papa smurf)

I also love this fact that he is not only the sorcerer, but also a really good musician! he can conduct the whole (!) orchestra, sing, play guitar, harmonica (according to original Peyo comics, 1976 film and 1981 series) + also some electric guitar (from some original art, I know it's not canon, but I just love this thing)

bonus: and considering how much he went through I JUST LOVE THOSE MOMENTS WHEN HE SMILES OR GOES THIS "hehehe"!!! he so cute and he makes me laugh and go this "awww he is so tiny !" <3

*means that he is father figure for smurfs and they live like a big family

okay, when i was a kid i thought that he is very annoying and stupid smurf and i used to hate him, BUT NOW I LOVE HIM WITH MY WHOLE HEART!!!!! like yes he is annoying for smurfs, he talks too much, he is nerdy and tricky, he always trying to prove that he is the smartest smurf and thats the point!! thats why he's so funny and good as a comedy character for me ^^

i also like that at the same time he is trying his best to be helpful and wise and he is kind actually and he is such a cutie as a smurf

we don't know lot about of him, but from "the legend of smurfy hollow" i like that he is determined and ambitious + at the same time he is kind to brainy even that he (brainy) won several times not in the most honest way. yes he (gutsy) also did some bad thing. but as i said before that's what makes him feel alive and i still love him!!

i like the vibe he brings like yeaaah i'm da coolest smurf bro ahahahaha. and he also inspires me to be myself, to be brave and have more fun character)

i really like his design like yep he is so tough guy and he wears cute kilt skirt and pompom on his hat thats so fun and just interesting to see and i just like this variety of design

she is my girl! i really like that despite her background she is still cheerful, kind and loves her family, she can be careful and gentle and i love her brave, reckless and tomboyish side, i just like that she can be both and she is just so sweet!!

i just want to hug her, she is the best!

Ah, I apologize, that was rude. I am Susette Voclain, and it is my responsibility to watch over Alrek. When he isn’t running off.

That’s very nice. And what has that got to do with me, exactly?

[She smiles, not unkindly.] I was hoping you might be the one he spoke to, and would be able to tell me what about.

[Lamia sighs. Today’s been long and exhausting, and an interrogation by a paranoid bodyguard - as she views Susette - is the last thing she needs.] Does your master endorse such scrutiny?

Considering that he is my charge, not my master? Yes, this falls within the scope of my duty. Thank you for asking.

We just made small talk. [A shrug.] I’m certain he will be more inclined to provide you with an exhaustive answer.

[Susette sighs, filting fingers through her bangs.] Of course. I appreciate your help. If you think of anything else, I would appreciate it.

[Lamia gives her a significant look, then takes a sharp inhale. Good gods, fine.] We spoke about wine, lazy nobles, genitals on sigils, criminal element of the city, earlier about toiling orphans and his sexual preferences. Will that be all, miss Voclain?

[She laughs.] Gods, why he sneaks off to do that, I can’t fathom. Thank you, I’ve just been concerned lately.

[Lamia nods, unamused, acknowledging her thanks. She hesitates for a second before she figures there’s nothing to lose if she offers her services.] I may be able to try and learn about that if you’ve been so concerned.

Oh? [Her brow raises; with Lamia’s attitude, she hadn’t expected any offer of further assistance.] How do you plan to do so?

That depends on the nature of your concern. If you’re simply worried about his well-being, or love life, or whatever - forget it.

But if you’re concerned there’s some more serious trouble brewing then I may be able to help you. Since that’s what I do for a living. Which is a subtle way of suggesting I can spy on him for you, I suppose.

[She considers it.] …Actually, there may be two others I would be interested to learn the motivations of: Maximillienne Sauvageon and Narcisse Bossuet. Two from Wayrest, who spend much of their time in Solitude.

How much is it to begin, and what expenses should I expect, besides?

[Lamia thinks. That would mean moving to Solitude for a while, and it’s a long way from home and other business offers. One name rings a bell, but in the end she knows nothing about those people - so Susette would have to fill her in and there would still be a lot of background checks to do.] That’s quite an endeavour. 

[She sighs.] I don’t know if it’s worth it. Not to mention that, high pay or not, nobles are trouble. I can’t afford put all the effort in this just because you have a hunch. But you’re welcome to get back to me once you have something solid on those people and something less petty than money to offer.

[Susette nods.] I understand. For reference, what would be considered ‘less petty’ than money?

Influence. Safe harbour. Knowledge. [She says without enthusiasm - she appreciate those things more than money, but doesn’t want them. Her lips arch into a lopsided smirk.] Emeralds?

When something comes to my mind or I need your aid I’ll let you know.

Thank you. I’ll keep that in mind, as well. Should you happen to learn of something in any case, I’ll be happy to pay for it how you see fit.

I’ll do that, but I’m sceptical. [Lamia unfolds her arms only to cross them again.] Don’t get your hopes up, miss Voclain.

I’ll look forward to hearing from you all the same. [She gives her a little bow.] If you don’t mind, however, before I go I’d like to ask your name.

Lamia. [A nod in return.] If you need anything I have an office down the lower levels of Riften, it shouldn’t be hard to find. Where might I find you?

Solitude, usually. Alrek has a place there.

[A ‘place’. More like a castle I bet. She doesn’t like Solitude but she doesn’t wince.] Noted. Until we meet again, Susette.
