This beautiful and tasty sushi layer cake will change the way you think about sushi forever. Great for important events or when you want to wow your guests!
Ingredients: 3 cups sushi rice. 1/2 cup rice vinegar. 1/4 cup sugar. 1 teaspoon salt. Nori seaweed sheets. Assorted sushi fillings e.g., raw fish, avocado, cucumber, crab sticks. Soy sauce, for serving. Wasabi, for serving. Pickled ginger, for serving.
Instructions: Follow the directions on the package to cook the sushi rice. Put rice vinegar, sugar, and salt in a small saucepan and mix them together. Warm it up until the salt and sugar mix. Place cooked rice on a baking sheet and drizzle with the vinegar mix. Carefully fold to mix. Allow to cool. Lay out a sheet of nori seaweed on a flat surface. On top of the nori, spread out a layer of sushi rice. Put some of the sushi fillings you like on top of the rice. Put another sheet of nori on top, and keep adding rice and filling layers one after the other until you reach the height you want. Add more rice on top to finish. Carefully cut the sushi layer cake into pieces with a sharp knife. Put it on the plate with pickled ginger, soy sauce, and wasabi.
