ON STARTING SUSTAINABLE CONVERSATIONS 🌿✨ . . 75 POUNDS of textile goes into the landfills every single minute - in San Francisco alone! 😶 Most people don’t know about these numbers - I didn’t!! - and when we find out about them, it’s hard to understand. How is that even true?! 🥺 . . What we need is *awareness* and we have to spark it through engaging and *inclusive* conversations! We have to normalize these topics and make it #cooltocare - for everyone! 🌿🙏🏻 . . . A few weeks ago I was invited to an event with @rolemodelsmgmt in SF by @annetheresebengtsson and her intention was to cultivate and have exactly those kinds of conversations. It’s up to all of us to spark the flames of a cultural revolution and to pave the ways for a better world. And like with everything, it starts with awareness and conversations. ✨🌎 . . A big thank you to @mindspace.me for co-hosting this event, to @rockjuiceinc for providing natural and sustainable wines, to @healthade for delicious kombucha and to @itsfromthegarden for providing us with delicious vegan bites. Also a huge thanks to @tonledesign who had made an incredible art piece from exactly 75 pounds of recycled clothes, giving us all a chance to grasp what those facts I just mentioned actually looks like. I’ve been uber lucky to share many pivotal moments in 2018 with my best friend Steph. 👯‍♀️ It’s heartwarming going through photos trying to decide my favorite times together. 🥰 I feel lucky to not only have a friend that lives 2 minutes away but a passionate female founder that generally wants to change the world together and leave it better than how we found it. Co-leading a chapter of Rising Tide has been beyond rewarding and led us to partnerships with amazing vendors & landed us on the set of @thisissftv + @cbstv It also led to our creation of SustainableProject.org , which has been by far the most rewarding gift of this year. But, there were WAY more days spent together where we didn't take pictures. These were the not-so-glamorous meetings and planning sessions with lawyers and the chamber of commerce for @risingtidesociety , @sustainableproject & @bayarea_events 🧠 We also spent lots of time working with designers, models and other creatives for our sustainable publications and editorial with @florummagazine .. This house was architecturally designed for sustainable living. It was located on 600 acres of framing property and sat directly in front of a 5 acre dam. This house included polished concrete floor large north facing window that captured the light and suns energy.

I take my role as the beauty director for the @sustainableproject very seriously. In the last few months I’ve researched hundreds of “healthy” “chemical free” and “non-toxic” beauty products. Unfortunately this industry is not regulated and many companies greenwash and lie about what is really in their products. But I was on a mission to find and offer REAL safe options for myself and my clients. I finally found a line that I LOVE... The packaging is beautiful, the quality is high-end and the products itself are long lasting.
