🍀BoxyCharm: March🍀 Hi all, I’m back at it today with another review. In my @boxycharm this month, I received: @myprojectbeauty Hairgurt Almond Honey Intense Repair Yogurt Hair Masque. I’m an active hair masque user and I’ve tried several different masques. This masque is formulated with yogurt protein, prebiotics, quinoa, a botanical oil blend, and shea butter. When purchasing a masque, I tend to look for something that works well with delicate, fine hair. This one left my hair feeling super soft and smelling great without weighing it down. This product retails at $10. @sultrabeauty Mini Ceramic Curling Iron. I was really shocked to see something like this in the basic box. I haven’t had the chance to try to, but I’m still very excited about doing so. This curling iron retails at $50. @hankandhenrybeauty Living Color Eyeshadow Palette. I really loved the 90’s vibes that this palette gave off. I also love how the colors are coordinated to match at least one other color in the palette. The formula is very smooth and easy to work with, so I look forward to playing with this some more. This palette retails at $27. @katvondbeauty Lash Liner in Black. I don’t really have that much to say about this one. The formula is amazing, I loved it. I couldn’t stand the applicator. It’s much too big for creating winged liner. This liner retails at $20. @vintagecosmetics Sparkling Lipgloss in Pink Sequin. I love this color so much and I really wish this wasn’t a gloss. It’s so sticky and gooy, just like a normal lipgloss I do plan to try it as a lip topper though. This gloss retails at $25. ‼️ Found another toxic skincare product in my home today. 🚫 Was blown away to find my expensive @lancomeofficial “Tonique Comforting Rehydrating Toner” It’s an 8 out of 10 in toxicity due to the carcinogenic ingredients including parfum/fragrance. ❌⛔️🤮 which can also cause break outs and allergic reactions. I used to think I had really sensitive skin, but it's not me.. I'd the horrible products I've been slathering on my skin!! I’ve replaced my toning regimign with #beautycounter rejuvenating toner pads. I take my role as the beauty director for the @sustainableproject very seriously. In the last few months I’ve researched hundreds of “healthy” “chemical free” and “non-toxic” beauty products. Unfortunately this industry is not regulated and many companies greenwash and lie about what is really in their products. But I was on a mission to find and offer REAL safe options for myself and my clients. I finally found a line that I LOVE... Finally a little something that has been in the works. #projectbeauty Thanks to Thomas Nguyen for creating such an awesome project. Over the past several years I have worked with middle school girls and seen them stress over their outward appearance. Much of their confidence is based on looks, the perfect selfie, the perfect outfit and the perfect filter. As a photographer I’m hear to make them look amazing, but I also want to embrace who they really are. The vast majority of my senior clients seem to have confidence so I asked a few to come in - all natural - for a photo shoot and tell me what true beauty means to them. No makeup, no filters and good ole t-shirts and blue jeans... all natural. They felt vulnerable, a bit scared, and I heard comments like... I don’t have any eyebrows..... my eye circles are terrible.... and last but not least.... you’re going to have to edit me! I have to admit I knew just how they felt when I showed up with no makeup either! We live in a society that judges by outward appearances, but it’s what’s on the inside that matters.
