On the way back over Ophir Pass there was a tow truck blocking the trail. The tow truck operator said a guy in a small SUV lost his brakes and went over the edge. The car didn’t roll, so he walked away with scratches. People think SUVs are off-road vehicles and it simply isn’t true. They don’t have the clearance, articulation or protection from skid plates.
