Dear Svanielle,
I must confess I do not know you nearly as well as some of mine brothers of the Ward do. However from what I have learned in passing leads me to write you this. Should this missive find you then I regret to inform you I am now in Halone’s halls should the Fury have me. I have lived my life, served my Goddess and protected His Eminence with all that I am. I find however that I would ask a task of you. One I would hope you shall find benefit from as well. Enclosed is a manuscript. I am sure once you look at it you will recognize it. I would request you read it. I do not know if it will be your normal type of literary fare however there is advice I would have you glean from it. After you have read it there is an address I would have you drop it off at. It will be the final installment of my side career.
I thank you in advance should you do this. I can only hope that my letter finds you well. I would only ask one final thing. Please look after the others in my absence. (A splotch of ink from the quill lingering too long mars the parchment before it continues) Especially Haumeric. You have forged a friendship with them, something that is not so easily accomplished. And with Haumeric you have forged a friendship if not more. I know full well of his vows and of duty. Please be there for them as I cannot be. Knights true and proud they may be, we all need someone at times. In this they will not likely admit it but they will need someone.
Respectfully yours,
Ser Vellguine de Bourbagne
(Beneath the letter is a bound stack of parchment. The last of a series of romance novels written under a pen name that had taken Ishgard’s ladies by storm. This one tells the story of an ill fated love, forbidden by duty, station and religion and the unique couple who strove to find a way despite the hardships facing them. The manuscript ends with a happy ending.)
