Caught the Sven guys at work today. Brazing on the long surfboard bike frame was underway but i’ll save a blog update for next week, once there has been some further progress. More interesting today were the bikes that Steve and Mog had cycled to work on.
The bike of choice for Steve was his Mountain bike, built on his first frame build some four years ago but still his favourite bike for off road. Shod with WTB Ranger 2.8 26” High Grip tyres it goes up terrain when other bikes have to be pushed. Not that he needed such grip for his commute today though he *had* been out with it at the weekend. He whispered something about getting another set of wheels to put some hard surface slicks on!
Mog’s bike couldn’t have been more different. More a commuting bike in looks and with a 3 speed fixie hub salvaged from another bike (but with a front brake!) and built around the first frame he and Darron (Sven) made together, it was probably *still* work in progress. Tiki style handlebars, hard to source these days, not only add to the appearance but offer a variety of grip positions for comfort on long rides.
It should have been no surprise to see these two surprising bikes.
