23. Your muse is a soldier in the war, mine is their lover back home — they exchange letters.
Another explosion, another round of shots, and another day of orders after orders. Kieron was growing tired of being a soldier, tired of nearly dying each and every day, tired of seeing his friends being killed or maimed one after the other.
Though there was always one thing he looked forward to every week; the day he would receive a letter from Sungrok. They had been together only a year before Kieron was to leave for the military, and the time he had left, the war started once again. Now he was stationed in the midst of the battlefield, receiving letters every so often from his lover, and he can never stop himself from smiling so widely as he reads through the written words, swearing he could hear his lover speaking them to him.
But it was always took him at least a few days to write back. He never had enough time to truly write him back, not with each day being a fight for his life, and the only time he has to himself is when he’s reading the letter repeatedly, feeling the tears prickling his eyes at the thought of Sungrok being home alone each and every day.
Though he only has to wait another week, then Kieron will be home again.
