“rise and shine uri-maknae” DK said his smile shining brighter than the sun

As he brushed her hair, he felt her skin radiating

It was like an oven that was over-heating. Or like a fire that was boiling in her skin

He called for Scoups who basically ran to her room

“I think she has a fever”

DK was sent to get the thermometer and to get cold water and a towel

Her temperature turned out to be 38* Celsius, a high fever, Scoups got a wet and cold towel to put on her forehead

Her eye twitched from the cold sensation

“aegi-yah is sick?” The two boys turned around to see Jeonghan by the door his eyes furrowed and mouth agape

He ran toward the girl and started kissing her cheek gently

Jeonghan was softly scolded by Scoups because he was getting close to the sick girl

Because of Jeonghan’s kiss, she opened her eyes slowly, feeling the heat of the sun hitting her face

Her cheeks were flushed, and her eyes were a bit swollen, “nie! Your awake!” Jeonghan wailed

“Nie your sick, so we can’t go to practice today” Scoups announced.

She just nodded slowly, and a few seconds later she fell asleep again

Die to Nie being sick, Scoups and Jeonghan took care of their schedules, Mingyu cooked samgyetang and made ginseng tea to help with her fever, and Dino took care of her

She only sat up the entire day to eat and getting carried by Hoshi to the bathroom

The day went faster then expected, and Nie’s fever lowered a bit

Dino slept with her that night

They slept next to eachother while Scoups and Joshua would wake up and fix her towel and scrubbed her arms and legs

At midnight, Scoups was scrubbing her arms gently when she suddenly stirred in her sleep

Scoups was more careful with his movements more, looking more at her reaction then her arm

“Sleep now nie, take care of yourself more!” He murmured

You were silently sketching in your room, that one habit of yours that just made you feel busy, and peaceful while your brothers would live their life or be loud in the living room

The sketching was boring, but interesting when you draw more, and that became an addiction

Being the maknae mean’t being pampered like a baby because everyone is softer to younger people right?

And that was something that you always flex

Scoups went to the grocery store recently, and he bought your favorite, blueberries

He knocked softly on the door and slowly opened it

“How’s the drawing?” He smiled at you holding a bowl of blueberries in his hand

“Uhmm, its doing okay…” you said simply, sketching a cat that you saw yesterday. Your eyes lit up, seeing the blueberries on his hand

He grinned at you, as if you were gonna start running for the blueberries

The sketch book got pushed away as you rushed to get the bowl of blueberries. As you got them, your bubbly smile gave it away, seungcheol melted/grinned at you after seeing your reaction

“Good?”

“Delicious!”

As i said earlier, being the maknae mean’t being pampered, and that also includes. Your hair getting styled by your oppas

The boys got bored so they went to the mall, leaving you with byul (your dog)

When they came back, they had that one plastic bag with clips in it. Just because you kept complaining that your hair always went in your way

“Aegi-yahh” hoshi called out, already bringing the clips out

The boys surrounded you while you were still holding byul in your arms

Jeonghan started braiding your hair carefully while the others were picking out clips

It surprisingly took them a while to do your hair, maybe because your hair was a bit long

Dino got his phone from his pocket and started taking photos of you with it,

“Maknaeee, you are so photogenic” which was not wrong

They giggled while you posed for the photos, most of them praising your beauty

“She is soo cute!” Mingyu exclaimed

Getting spoiled was often. Like everyday often

The boys feed you during breakfast, (because you were always too drowsy to eat), and they buy you anything you want

Like plushies, your fav foods, and even an expensive camera

They didn’t care that they were spending too much money, it was as long as if you were happiness

Your happiness mean’t soo much to them. Like girl, if they would see a tear on your cheek, they would beat the person who hurt you

They won’t care of they would be beaten up because of it, the boys will always have your back

Even if it was just a tear on your cheek

The whole day was stressful.

Non-stop recordings. Dance practices for 2 hours. And photoshoots that would take an hour for the best picture

There was no time for rest and freetime until sunset hit, and recordings, dance practices, and photoshoots were done.

Most of the members would laze around and watch tv and would bedrot in their rooms

You were just in your pajamas, sketching, and playing soft music on your bedside table.

It was boring and quiet, but atleast you were busy and making time pass faster

You heard loud footsteps and happy voices coming to your door and you knew that you were in to a sleepover

Two individuals came in your room, making the boring and peaceful mood to a fun and loud one

Hoshi and DK were carrying their blankets and pillows

“Let’s have a sleepover!” DK said, his voice echoing through the dorms. You smiled happily and put the sketchbook away and turning the music off

Hoshi laid the blankets and pillows on your bed, because it was big enough for the three of you to sleep in

The night was filled with laughter and the three of you dancing your hearts out for extra practice for your comeback

After the clock reaching midnight, Scoups went in your room telling you guys to sleep from how loud you guys were

You all collapsed on the mattress, gasping for air, and still laughing from the awful joke that DK said a minute ago

When you guys finally calmed down. You all said goodnight and sleeped together with your arms around eachother

The sun’s brightness bled through your curtains making all of you groan from the light

You woke up tangled in your older brother’s arms, caged in your bed not even being able to stir

You tapped on Hoshi’s shoulder for you to get up, then you pulled Hoshi and DK’s arms to make them eat breakfast

When the three of you got to the kitchen, all of the other members were there

Woozi working on some new songs, Mingyu toasting more bread, and Vernon scrolling on his phone while eating

“How did you sleep?” Jeonghan gave her a piece of bread still seeing that she was drowsy

“Not bad” you said simply, too sleepy to care

The 14 of you ate together in that less stressful morning, preparing for another busy day ahead

The thought of being perfect was always flooding your mind. You remembered those days where you wanted to have a simple college life

You never expected to debut in a group, where getting hate was a daily basis.

And being the only girl in a all male group was, Getting hate for being yourself.

Everything that was expected from you was

Perfection. No mistakes. No excuses

Even talking about it was hard because, you didn’t want to feel like a burden

To anyone. Especially the boys

You were half zoning out on that one paper that was literally screaming “Finish your work!” Until Seungcheol suddenly came in

“How is it going?” He quietly sat on the bed beside your table

Your eyes were red. Maybe from exhaustion. Maybe from crying, and maybe from staying up late at night. And of course, Seungcheol noticed

Even if your hoodie was swallowing you, even if you hid your face in your hands

He would always see it.

“Hey, what’s going on?” That broke you instantly. You hugged him tightly, sobbing and hiding yourself in his shoulder

“Let it out. It’s okay.”

The door clicked open, 12 shadows appeared behind the half opened door

The boys walked slowly in to the room, sitting beside you, and some rubbing your back

It took you a few seconds before saying “I didn’t want to feel perfect all the time”

It was short. But enough for everyone to understand

You always smiled for everything, no matter the situation. You just wanted to be strong for everyone. You only showed your strong side. Never your weak side

Everyone thought that you didn’t have a weak side.

You did. But you didn’t want anyone to see it

“Y/N-ah, nobody needs to be perfect all the time. You smile everyday as if you were superman, but we all knew that you were hurting inside— Everyone feels sad, and it’s okay because everyone has feelings of their own. And stop thinking that your a burden for asking help from us. We know you need it—“ Scoups explained

They knew you. The independent maknae who didn’t want to show weakness

But they also knew that they could help you feel like a person. With feelings

That you are not embarrased to show.

In the past weeks. The only thing they cared about was you.

Not the schedules, not the cameras, just you

DK and Dino would gives you random hugs every hour to give some love for the day

Scoups would bring extra snacks for you after practice because he said you were getting too “skinny” the past days

Wonwoo would stick stupidly comforting words on your door to remind you about mental well-being

And The8 would bring you to his room to talk about life and drink tea on his balcony for you to talk about your life recently

The boys loved you a lot. Too much. And that’s the reason why you have a mentally good mind

You lost your dog a year ago. Losing it made you feel… lonely in a way

It felt like you lost your happiness because of it.

But of course, some people will see your sadness…

Your brothers

They saw everything, you would look more down if somebody talks about her, your wallpaper was your dog, and you would always talk about her

Even though you tried to move on from it, you just couldn’t forget the animal that helped your sadness, frustration, and lonelyness

Your brothers have been looking for the perfect dog for you, they started digging for new dogs every single day as if they were robbing one

The day finally came the next day, when Scoups’s non-idol friend’s dog gave birth to puppies

Scoups got one of them and told the rest of the members

The Next day

You were scrolling in your room, quiet as ever remembering your dogs day

Until a knock on the door, it was Hoshi

“Nie— how have you’ve been?” He asked her, a tiny grin of excitement on his face “Not bad” You said simply, down as always

Seungkwan suddenly walked towards you, with all of the members behind him, and Jeonghan carrying a not that small box “We have a surprise for you!” He smiled softly at her “What’s the box for?” You asked, puzzled

Seungkwan and Hoshi gave way for Jeonghan and the rest of them to come in

“Sit down” Minghao said, the edges of his mouth curling a bit

Jeonghan set the box down, and opened the top, There comes a tiny white puppy stood up, her tongue out, and her tail waging back and forth

She teared up at the sight, she looked happy, a missing soul that filled her heart fully

She picked her up, and hugged her while you were crying

“Thank you” you smiled through your tears, after a few minutes of crying with happy tears, DK suddenly yelled “Group hug!” they all closed in, squishing you and your puppy, that was still in your arms

Some kissing your cheek, and ruffling your hair. Scoups wiped the tears on your cheek and smiled at you

You gave a peck on your new puppy’s fur, and it was official!

Your half empty heart, was now filled with happiness that you waited for patiently
