Star Wars Ships
So I just want to put it out there that this movie did give me some Reylo feels but by the end of it I was back to not shipping them. I'm not an anti, though! I'm open to a redemption arc for Kylo but not holding my breath. I'm not shipping them just bc I'm pretty sure after all the murdering he's done, his only redemption will be self sacrifice and a cleansing death, like Vader. So I'm not going to invest shipping energy into Reylo, even though I definitely do see the chemistry there, especially in TLJ. I don't actually ship Rey with anyone, come to think of it. I see her as this badass woman doing what she needs to do to save the Galaxy. I haven't seen anyone come along yet that I could honestly romantically ship her with. No one deserves her yet.
What I DO ship is finnpoe/stormpilot 🔥🔥🔥 this movie did nothing to kill my ship and I'm soooooo happy about that! And I love Rose, I think it's so sweet that she fell in love with Finn and that she kissed him with her last bit of energy before passing out. But I don't in any possible way believe that Finn returns her romantic affections. I think Finn thinks of Rose like his little cinnamon roll, he cares about her deeply but dude is in love with Poe Dameron. Rose will get over it though. She's a tough little firecracker. Love her. But not as much as Stormpilot ❤

you didn't really answer the op question because you never addressed a scenario where Finn was still played by John Boyega. I'm curious what do you think fan reaction would be to Finnrey with John Boyega and Kylo being mixed race.
Like I said, I don’t believe that would happen, but if it did, I think it would make the fans very uncomfortable, and they would be vocal about it. Finnrey would be about the same, and Reylo would be much smaller. In this scenario, there would be NO all white new gen pairing possible (slash or het) without going deep, like latching onto the Thomas Sangster cameo. And I think they would. Hux/Sangster cameo would probably be the most popular ship. Either that or they would create an all-white crossover ship for Hux.
ETA: And as far as who Rey would be “autoshipped” with, we’d probably see a lot more Damerey and Reyux, as well as Reyva.
