I'm Kelly and I think I might be back in a tumblr phase? Been on and off this app since 2014. Current ship is Buddie, but my profile pics are too nostalgic and I refuse to change them. Past ships I've written for include Buddie (9-1-1), DavidxPatrick (Schitt's Creek), WillxAngie (Single Parents), Gertchase (Runaways), Karamel (Supergirl), and Xankie. My reblogs are chaotic. Canadian. Elder Millenial, so that makes me 25 still right? Co-Creator of Open Fic Night Ao3 fanfic_or_bust
I just want to say, as someone who adopted an older child, that I am really glad Buck didn’t "chance" his way into Theo. I was worried he would somehow be asked to take him bc of his donor status, or that K+K had somehow written Buck into their will. I thought a cop was going to show up with the kid and ask Buck to take him.
This was so much better. Buck made the conscious decision to adopt Theo. Now, as an adoptive mom who had to undergo months/years of the invasive home study and do enough paperwork to bury myself under, the process did seem laughably easy lol but it also did for Hen/Karen and Maddie/Chim so whatever. I'm just gonna assume Buck went through a couple weeks of expedited homestudy in order to adopt Theo (giving him time to buy every single yard game at Costco), and that was just the last signature.
But the point is, Theo isn't something that just *happened* to Buck, he is something Buck *chose*. And that makes a huge difference to me!
One of them is dead and the other will be in a coma. If they were both dead they would have been explicit about it. Buck will end up foster/kinship parenting Theo, and then against all odds the surviving parent (i think Konnor) will wake up and take Theo back after recovering. Buck will be attached and heartbroken afterwards and want a family of his own ❤️
Here's who Theo (the kid) is, and his narrative purpose.
Yes, I am sure. No, I have no proof lol. The following is pure speculation, guided by what feels like the gift of prophecy.
Theo is the donor baby. He's in the car with his mom when they get into an accident, and she dies (Shannon parallel). Connor (thats the dad's name right?) is either badly injured in the same accident or I'm leaning to he is out of town/country for work (potentially deployed - Eddie parallel), and because there is no one able to care for Theo, Connor tells them to take Theo to Buck. Buck then gets *temporary* guardianship until Connor either heals or gets back to town.
During this time, Buck leans on Eddie who can relate hard to taking on a 4 or 5 year old who barely knows him. He will share parenting advice, and see how good Buck is with the kid and do some more Bambi eye-acting as he swoons about it. Buck will realize during this time how much he wants a family of his own, and state his desire to find someone he can start a family with.
Now, MAYBE eddie reassures Buck that he already has a family and a kid that loves him but buck will be like "of course and I care about you guys so much, but I want the real deal. A partner to come home to, a kid waiting for me when I get home".
Meanwhile, Eddie is realizing that Buck is serious, and he is right... he WILL be good at this and he DOES deserve it. But that it'll change everything. If Buck finds a partner and they have kid, they won't see each other nearly as much. Buck won't need his help like he does now. He won't have time for him and Christopher like he does now. And that scares him, and the fear of losing Buck will set Eddie on his journey of acceptance into his feelings and what he wants. (Also just want to point out how many domestic family-coded scenes Buck has had with Chris and Eddie this year. Almost like theyre trying to remind us that the 3 of them are a domestic unit... but it hasn't been made official.)
I can see Hen or Ravi making some comment about how Eddie must be looking forward to the kid going back home so he won't have to help out constantly anymore, or commenting on how bucks going to be such a great dad and whoever snatches him up will be lucky because he's come so far as a person. Cue worried/anxious Eddie.
So yeah. The kid is just going to be a temporary guardianship thing, will bring Buck and Eddie further together, while driving Eddie towards a feelings reveal spurred on by the fear of Buck finding a family that isn't him and Chris.
Just want to note this down for when it happens 😅 Thanks for coming to my Ted talk!
So they show up, at his HOUSE, after he saved their son's life, to... blame him for their out of control child and rip apart his personality and insinuate Buck shouldn't procreate?? 🤨🤔

Not for nothing, but Buck's hilariously stubborn full meal while Eddie sat gaping at his audacity probably saved his life lol he needed all the energy he could get. Would he have survived the fever on an empty stomach? I don't think so, Eddie!!
Where in the World are Our Schitt's Creek Blorbos?
This week, the theme was Around the World. @jamilas-pen asked, "What are your favourite fics that take place (largely or completely) somewhere other than Schitt’s Creek?"
It turns out that our beloved characters have been some places!

This is just a screenshot, but please click here, and go to the larger, interactive map with details I painstakingly found and input.
I have put them all on a map for those who want to retrace their reading adventures. (I recommend that you reorder them, though, so you don't zigzag too much.)
I put the pushpins in the first, most specific, non-Schitt's Creek place I could find in the fic. I just chose the hostel whose name I liked best for "Těší mě," and I wasn't going to hunt down an agent's house in LA, so I put the airport for "Love at First Taste." The pin for "Darling, Je Vous Aime Beaucoup" is supposed to go to a section of a street, but I think it auto-chose a building. Close enough? I put the space fics in the middles of oceans because I didn't have a better idea.
Yay! Thanks for participating this week. See you again Friday.
As usual, if I missed your post, let me know so I can edit!
“Never took you for a boob man, bro,” he laughed. Eddie rolled his eyes. Just yours .
“Don’t call me bro,” said Eddie instead, sucking one of Buck’s nipples into his mouth. That shut him up right quick. After making sure to pay attention to the other side, Eddie continued his way down, pressing open mouth kisses all down Buck’s abdominal muscles until he arrived at the waistband of his jeans. Buck was lying flat on his back, propped up on a pillow, staring down at Eddie with an expression he wanted to see every day for the rest of his life. Eddie gulped, this was unknown territory for him. His heart hammered in his chest as he looked up at Buck with wide eyes.
“I–I’ve never–” he started. Buck reached a hand down to stroke his hair. “That’s okay, Eddie, you don’t have to. If you’re not ready.”
“No, that’s not what I meant,” Eddie shook his head. “I’m ready. I just don’t know if I’ll be any good.”
Or, Buck and Eddie's Ducking Crazy press tour comes to an end.
