MOTH!!

I never posted the moth here cause I was away from tumblr at the time but I think that it's really pretty and deserves some love

It's a swallow-tailed moth, apparently they aren't commonly seen due to their short emergence period, and due to the fact that it was very sleepy it didn't seem to mind getting picked up and moved to a safer place to hide

They also have amazing caterpillars!!

Like wtf is this twig doing turning into a moth??!!

I met a swallow-tailed moth (Ourapteryx sambucaria) last week!!

This is a Swallow-tailed moth !!!

The wings are a pale yellow colour which fades whiter with age, with two darker lines crossing the forewings and one line crossing the hindw

31/07/2024 and 01/08/2024-View at Lakeside Country Park and orpine in Winchester yesterday, phone photos of Mute Swans and cygnets at Winnall Moors at lunch time which was magical to see and a view there and a stunning Swallow-tailed moth only the second I'd ever seen at home tonight and roses in Abbey Gardens yesterday.

Other highlights at Winnall Moors today were Golden-ringed Dragonfly, Banded Demoiselle, Peacock, Brimstone, Small White, Large White and Gatekeeper butterflies, upright hedge parsley, meadow crane's-bill, herb-Robert with Song Thrush, House Sparrow and dock enjoyed cutting across Lakeside this morning and Goldfinch and White-shouldered House moth also nice to see at home this evening.
