If I were casting part 3 Caesar, Peter Capaldi would be my top choice

Not only does he work aesthetically for the role (white/grey curly hair, almost canon height, can grow a serious mustache) but through his previous roles you can see how well he plays both aggressive and almost wizard like characters. Which is how I picture Caesar in his older years.

Unfortunately, despite the last name, he is Scottish not Italian. So for the role Capaldi would have to put on a false (and hopefully super exaggerated) Italian accent

Old Caesar/old caejose when done right is fantastic! some of my favorite headcanons, fics, and fan arts of those old farts!

however, there are maybe 5 of us who truly nail the old Caesar/old Joseph dynamic. the rest of the portrayals can be fine? like they may not be my taste but they aren't hurting anyone. (like whenever I see old Caesar w/o a mustache I'm bothered but that's a me problem lol)

while some other portrayals are absolutely terrible. just so completely ooc that it doesn't work at all.

for example, some pieces will make Caesar just too soft Joseph. not just like a little fluff, but like he basically just never gets annoyed with him or they never fight at all which is BAD. or fics that try focus so hard on the angst that they don't allow for Joseph to be fun and pester old Caesar.

There has to be a fine balance, something that hits the sweet spot of some domestic fluff with hints of the youth bickering they carry into their later years.
