Swampbound Vision Board
Summary: Set against the eerie backdrop of the Florida swamps in the 1980s, this supernatural tale follows Adla Bennett, a woman navigating life after the loss of her father. When she discovers a wounded creature resembling a wolf on her porch, she takes it in for the night, only to find out the creature is a shapeshifter named Terry Richmond. He asks Adla for her help in locating his missing cousin, Mike, intertwining their fates in a way she never expected. (Coming Oct. 30th)
What kept you pushing and writing Swambound to get to 10 chapters?
A couple of things. The main thing is that I was writing it for the Scary Terry Fest with @uzumaki-rebellion. That held me accountable in making sure I focused and had an actual deadline. Another thing that helped was that I didn’t initially start off thinking about writing in the sense of chapters. My intention was to be able to post a complete story in one post, but it got too long, so I went back and started dividing it up where it felt natural. That eliminated a lot of pressure. I think the biggest difference between this series and all the others I’ve tried post on here is that most of it (I think up to Chapter 8) was written before I posted the first part. I have this weird creative block that comes in once I start reading people’s comments and predictions on what’s going to happen. I don’t know if it’s performance anxiety or what but what I learned from Swampbound is that I need to finish the story before I start posting anything 😅
for swampbound:
Do you have a playlist for the character? What songs do you associate with them and why?
mostly because i see you always reblog / post music so now i am nosy!
I love this question!
I didn’t have an entire playlist or any specific songs for the characters, but I played 3000° by Ambré on repeat every time I sat down to write Swampbound. 3000 Degrees was the original title for the fic actually 😂 I mainly played the visual album on Youtube. It was filmed in Louisiana so it has a swampy, down south aesthetic, with Spanish moss hanging from oak trees and all that good stuff that reminded me of home (FL). This album was my main source of inspiration 💚
Not to be impatient or anything🫣 but will we we get the final chapter of Swampbound, I’m on the edge of my seat 🥴
Yes. ASAP. I’ve been opening the document everyday but nothing’s happening, which usually means I need to start the chapter over from a different point and build toward what I do have. Finishing my holiday fic and then I’ll refocus & get it done.
