This is probably my favorite tumblr post of all time. I can't help but well up every time I read this. I wish I could exist when humanity gets to touch the stars.

Sometimes I look through old archives of the internet and wonder just how much has been lost. If what we have collectively preserved publicly is so massive, how much art has been left to fall between the gaps in the records. What has been lost to time, disintegrated by the disinterest of people. I mean, sure, maybe a lot of it was useless to most, but if even one percentage of the information that has been lost was valuable, then humanity has suffered greatly. I find myself remembering a time I walked through a pine forest, and seeing the various bits of plastic and waste left along the pathways and even taking up the hidden corners as well. Much like the idea of lost history, most of this stuff is discarded because of disinterest or inconvenience/laziness. But when I looked hard, I found things I wished I could use, if only time had not eroded them and left them beyond repair. An old car, with a partially intact engine decomposed by rust. A wooden pole, half eaten by the water it sat in. The fallen branches, however, were still usable. The vines and the bushes still lived on. Despite all that is lost, life continues to push forward towards its own inevitable demise. The feeling this leaves me with is a wistful sadness, a sort of soul-twisting, stomach clenching sense of dissonance. Despite all this, I continue on, I do not stop, marching in time with the heart that will eventually fail. Using the legs which will inevitably falter. Breathing with lungs that will collapse. Thinking with a brain that will simply not last. And yet, I still march. Maybe I am just like a discarded piece of plastic, incompatible with my surroundings, and yet refusing to deteriorate because of my design.

okie dokie! I did the 9 card cross and triangle spread for this question using my olympus tarot deck (don’t judge, i was really into greek mythology as a youngster)
1. Life force-ten of pentacles: This card is represented by the apples of the Hesperides and represents promise. this means that there is a lot of promise in your life.
2. Thoughts-three of chalices: this card is represented by Daedalus overseeing the building of the Labyrinth and represents the building of something. It means that you are thinking about building something or building upon something.
3. Emotions-four of wands, upside down: this card is represented by the slaying of the Chimera and represents injury. Due to the upside down nature of the card, this is inverted, meaning that emotional injury is less likely to happen.
4. Spirit-four of chalices: this card is represented by the battle of Sparta and represents struggle, particularly internal ones. Pay attention to any internal dilemmas you may have during this process.
5. Physical Self-the magician: represented here by Zeus, king of the gods, this card represents absolute control. It means you have total control over your physical self, which may not seem like much, but in the context of the search for a place to live, it can be helpful to know that you are the only one in charge. Zeus also represents charisma and shrewdness, so those two things may factor in.
6. Opposing Forces-the stars, upside down: represented here by Hebe, cupbearer to the gods, this card represents peace and harmony, as well as guidance and cleansing. Unfortunately, this card is upside down, which means that you are being opposed by a force that does not want you to have these things. Be wary of things that may see too good to be true.
7. Other Opposing Forces-the fool, upside down: represented here by the god Pan, this card represents wildness, but also innocence and lightheartedness. Its position upside down urges caution against those who appear to be innocent and simple, for they may make your journey more difficult.
8. Necessary energies to call upon-the high priestess, upside down: represented here by the goddess Hera, this card represents female power and matriarchal influence but also unseen forces that are greater than us. The figure on the card appears contemplative. The inversion means that you should not rely solely on things that are inherently feminine in nature, but also that a little spontaneity may be helpful to you on the journey.
9. Question outcome- the judgement, upside down: this card is represented by the figures of Phobos, Deimos and Harmonia. They represent contrasting desires, but is a good card to come across when at a crossroads. Though it is upside down, the card is not warning you against trusting your judgement. Instead, it’s saying that it is okay to be scared and excited and confused about entering the next stage in your life, but don’t let these feelings overwhelm you.
