“Good morning.. Elizabeth” his voice was soft and low-- docile and deep in the morning, heavy from sleep as the light from the window came in.  He couldn’t actually believe his own luck, waking next to the woman he loved so much.  And her actually initiating the affection! It was lovely and he wrapped his arms around her, pulling her tighter against him, pressing a good morning kiss to her lips.( <3 )

A sigh slipped his lips as she spoke, those golden eyes looking less than amused. People often liked to slip him insults veiled as compliments. Backhanded ways of undermining his mood while looking as if they were trying to improve it. Being told his senses were like an animals, as if being compared to a beast wasn’t insulting most of the time. A few might be sincere, but most were uneducated, and to them, a beast was below a person, no matter what redeeming qualities they possessed. He wasn’t sure which one she was, but he decided to give his usual response. A gruff, stiff response. “How is that a compliment?” Okay, maybe not his usual one-word ‘thanks’ or a shrug, but she wasn’t a dirty peasant that didn’t know the world. She would be able to explain herself, or so the Witcher hoped.
