So Leave Me In the Cold

Regina couldn’t sleep. This had happened to her in the days before Robin, and now that he was gone from Storybrooke, she found it happening again. Nothing she did seemed to help. So here she was walking around town with only the streetlights as her guide. She had bundled herself up in her warmest coat and scarf and tucked her cellphone and hands inside the pockets. Always prepared if Henry should need her. And then she set out with no particular direction or destination.

To her surprise, she looked up to find herself in front of Mary-Margaret’s-Emma’s-apartment building. She frowned and let out a frustrated sigh. This was not somewhere she needed to be. Not when a part of her still blamed the savior for losing her soulmate once again. Her hands balled into fists deep inside her pockets. She closed her eyes, contemplating whether or not to magic herself anywhere but here when the door opened and a familiar face with blonde hair came into view. 

If only she’d have been a moment sooner... “Ms. Swan,” she said curtly, turning to go.
