#swap breeding

After two weeks of on and off breeding and hatching, I finally bred a shiny.

This is a swap breed and so the magikarp is swapped with a different pokémon to get a new shiny.

In this case, I swapped for a Phione.

The random IV turned out to be a pretty low special attack so I decided to go for a physical build.

What a cute fish.

I'll switch bubble for Liquidation and possibly Acid Armor/Aqua Ring for Knock Off/ Bounce.

Nobody ever said my builds were wise.

Anyways, good hunt.

Looks like swap breeding works. Soft resetting over that shiny magikarp was scary though. Have so many freaking littens after I stopped masuda and went to swap breeding. I have several hundred litten but it only took 75 magikarp

So it’s been a while since I did a shiny pokémon post, so I figured that I’d make one.

I accidentally hatched a shiny totodile (my second) while breeding for one with better IVs. It’s so cute and ended up with pretty good stats but I’m planning on giving it to my partner anyway since I already have a shiny feraligatr.

My next shiny was a larvitar I got by swap breeding with magikarp and gible after 127 eggs, after spending about 150 eggs getting the right egg moves, nature, and IVs. I’m planning on using it in the battle tree once I get it fully evolved, Tyranitar was one of my favourite pokémon in gen 2.

I got an eevee by adrenaline orb chaining, I still haven’t decided what to evolve it into yet. It was after only a few encounters, so that’s why it doesn’t have better stats. Still cute, though. I really like the shiny eeveelutions, so I think I’ll go for one of each eventually.

This machop I stumbled across while looking for a shiny rock ruff, it just showed up between chains. Not the best stats, but there’s always hyper training.

So yeah I got rockruff via adrenaline orb chaining, and I really like the shiny colour scheme. I’ll probably end up evolving it I to the midday form since I prefer that one.

And finally corsola, again by adrenaline orb chaining. I always thought that it was a shame that corsola wasn’t more viable in battle, it’s a really neat design and the shiny colour scheme is nice too.

Here’s a useful info-graphic on an exploit called Swap Breeding in Pokémon Sun & Moon. I just tested it out today and somehow was lucky enough not only to get the shiny Sandygast, but for it also to be 6 IVs!

Ohhh my gosh I'm so happy about this!! I was back to IV swap breeding and when I hatched a shiny girl magikarp I was like 'oh wouldn't it be cool if it would be a girl rowlet' aND IT WAS 😭 she's so close to perfect IVs but I don't even care man I'm just thrilled that I have her ❤

Was swap breeding for IVs of different Pokemon I eventually want to hunt and ended up finding a shiny, so I now have this nearly perfect lil borb ❤

he’s going to be staying as a rowlet while I eventually try to get a girl to evolve but for now I’m very content with my son 😚
