Totodile

I love my chompy croc so much. What a pal! And it's hard to see why anyone wouldn't like this head-empty fellow, with its wide red eyes and stubby arms. It'd trot around to follow you with a slight waddle. The eye markings are trying so hard to make it look angrier, but they are not succeeding

Croconaw

It evolves into a caveman, for some reason. It's definitely the most awkward out of gen 2's middle stages, but the animal print sling across its body at least makes it memorable. The spiky mohawk it has adds so much punk personality

Feraligatr

At the time, the Pokémon games only had the capacity to host 10 letters in any given name, and "Feraligator" happened to have 11, so they cut one letter off. This decision stuck around in every future iteration despite it becoming unnecessary. It's one of those old gen quirks

Besides its name, it is one bulky beast. Its bite has become worse than its bark, with its hunched-over body and wide snapping jaws. The plates across its body signify it's now battle-ready and won't go down easy. Some of the goofiness from its prevos remain, but that's honestly necessary to not make it too intimidating

Mega Feraligatr

This would have been so cool if they had just KEPT THE FAKE HEAD DOWN LIKE A HOOD. The critiques that it looks like it has a toilet seat strapped to its neck are very valid, there's no way you can tell wtf that's supposed to be from its key art. Put it down! It could have had so much aura with the extra reinforced plates and shadow over its true head. Gamefreak, you had one fucking job
