Rachel was no hero. She just let a friend die and there wasn’t a thing she could do. It’s pathetic, she felt useless. But she has to move on, even if for just little while. She can’t lament the things and people she lost while she has a job to do. A job she didn’t want.
Running with her long blade, she could hear the hard thud of reanimated bones catching up to her. She has to be faster, she has to hide, she needs to get away. If she wants her life intact, she needs to think of a solution right away. Panic is starting to rise in her, the angry shouts of people she bumped into didn’t ease it. Seeing an opening, she rounded at the corner and nearly toppled someone over. Probably stabbing him if he wasn’t mortal.
They landed with an ‘ooph’, but their disaster completely let her out of sight of the skeletons. “Hey! Careful with that cool pointy thing!” Rachel heard the boy say below her. She looked down and saw the most beautiful eyes she’s ever seen. They were so green like the ocean she went to last time. She can’t help but be drawn in on him and just drank the sight of his face. He was gorgeous, albeit a little skinny. Rachel felt her heart thump fast, she’s sure the boy felt it. They stared at each other, time seeming to stop and it was just the two of them.
“Uhmm... can you get off me now? You’re kind of heavy.” The boy with piercing green eyes said. Rachel nearly leaped off him and profusely apologized. “Hey hey it’s okay. Just next time don’t point your pointy things towards people.’
