Swap and Shop Chicago - FAQ
1) What is this event? I don’t get it!
a: There are 3 elements. 1- The swap. You drop off your unwanted clothing only items at our designated date/time/locations (or by appt.) You get a raffle ticket to be entered into one of the drawings throughout the night sponsored by our lovely sponsors:
The shop is a pop-up shop, that will have items for sale from proud mary vintage, lovesick vintage, redress, and some plus size burlesque items from Vaudezilla.
Lastly, this is a party! We have two awesome DJs, a photobooth (one free set up where photos will be uploaded later, and instant photos for sale), a burlesque performance by Vaudezilla’s Vanna Tease, and RAFFLES GALORE! One raffle ticket will be given to you for free if you donate for the swap (more tickets available for sale day of.)
2) Why are you only taking donations in advance? I can’t drop off my clothing ahead of time.
a: We are taking donations in advance so that all sorting can be done prior to the event, making it run more smoothly. We have two donation days, and are available by appointment if you cannot do those days. If you can’t get your items to us ahead of time, we apologize but will not take them the day of the event. You can still attend. You do not need to donate items for the swap, to participate!
3) Can I be a vendor? I sell/do/etc…
a: I’m sorry but we are totally booked to capacity. We just don’t have the room!
4) Are you selling my donation?
a: Absolutely NOT. The vendors are selling their items (offered only sizes 12+) Your donations are only going to be offered in the swap section, for people to take.
5) Do I have to donate to attend?
a: Nope! Though we need donations to make the swap portion successful, it’s not required! We’d love to see you!
6) Where is this happening?
a: The Burlington, in the back room, usually used for shows. The address is:
