lol yeah she was ON top for like 3 seconds while they kissed.  idk there's so little information to work with so the fact that everyone is now like 'well that proves it! solid evidence! paige is obviously the top! i knew it!' is making me like uhhhhh whaaaaa? because this is something i actually have a lot of feelings about so here comes a long-winded rant about fashion and gender stereotyping.

we all know that ever since paige came out she's ditched her preppy girl wardrobe in favor of a more traditionally masculine style of dress.  and emily has been adamant from day one that just because she's a lesbian doesn't mean she's going to stop dressing traditionally feminine. for a fandom that is so celebratory of its queer characters, it seems like without even thinking about it they've mindlessly shuffled the two of them into these roles of paige-as-the-top and emily-as-the-bottom based on the fact that paige would rather wear a suit and emily a dress.  personally, i see paige as a bottom.  i definitely see emily as a top.  i'm not saying i'm right, i just wish a little more thought and analysis went into the fandom's decision other than 'oh she's in a suit she wears the pants in the relationship' which is just so not true.

i think the reason i like emily with paige so much more than i liked her with alison, maya, or samara is because in those relationships i considered emily the bottom.  she just seemed stifled, like the relationship still needed training wheels and emily was only along for the ride with the other person driving.

and who says a person can just be one thing anyway.

i think alison is like people have pointed out, a dynamic person. emily probably wants answers more than she actually has feelings for alison. but i understand why it’s frustrating bb.

that actually makes a lot of sense when you put it like that. i just think she could have brought the liars with her to the woods. it seemed like she was going alone to keep ~their secret place~ special.  but i guess when you're desperate for answers you're not really thinking practically.

sighs. yes, this season has been very frustrating.  and hiatus only gives me more time to form nasty emily headcanons.  it's an issue.

she’s in love with paige and im sure emily is trying to resolve what happened with alison is in the past and she’s not the same person anymore

the whole meeting-alison-in-the-woods thing is throwing me for a loop.  when emily talks about ali to other people it seems like she's really pissed about how she treated her in the past and is finally over her, but when it's emily and alison one-on-one she gets all soft-eyed and dreamy again.  she can't go sleuthing with the liars until she gets off work at 6, but the second ali says "meet me at that spot where we used to make sweet lesbian love" emily drops everything and runs.

even the writers are all about emison, but when it comes to paily they're like "can you stop harassing me about paily. 5 seconds of boring screentime is plenty, don't be so greedy, GOD."

(and honestly, alison and emily deserve each other.  i just wish we'd break up with paige first instead of leaving her hanging in limbo.)
