I love seeing other people’s interpretations for these guys as dragons. Like, just the colours and the species even. I have Fenris as a mirror, because of their slinky, bitey reputation, and because they have four eyes—two to watch forward, two to watch behind for Danarius. And my Aveline is a white/fire guardian, my Anders an obsidian/fire/ice skydancer. For freedom!
hee. Aveline as a Guardian absolutely makes sense, I like that. I just really enjoy the snappers, and Aveline's one of my favorites, and they've practically actually got built in armor and I thought she'd appreciate that. :D
And I consciously wanted to show the other side of Fenris, to remind him, in fact, that he's better than he thinks he is, that he has grace and power and skill, not just paranoia.
I started out going more for the physical aesthetic, build or posture or hair color, and then expanded as I worked my way through all twelve of them. The rogues all got striped wings, eye spots for the warriors (both because I liked the metaphor of it, looking out for things, but also because it worked best in the design for Fenris and his brands) shimmer wings for the mages. Except for Anders, who got an iridescent body, and then Justice got eye spot wings. And then Fade crackle over both of them, and I liked the desperate movement of the spiral for them.
/ugh, sorry I should probably stop rambling now?
