I've been hitting the gym pretty hard with officially hitting the 90 day countdown till my wedding. Let me just start by saying I've never been a distance runner. In fact, I've almost always historically hated distance running, from middle school until my early adulthood. I've always had to go to extreme measures to psych myself up about it just to even get through it. I think part of this is because I've always had sinus/allergy issues and I could just never figure out how to breathe properly while running. However, about a month ago a good friend of mine who had just had a baby was working out with me and she talked me into running a mile on the treadmill. It was the first time I had put in a non-stop mile in about 8 years. I was so stupid proud of my 12.5 minute mile you would have thought I had won an Olympic medal. Now, fast forward about 6 weeks and I just finished a 10.5 minute mile on top of putting in another hour of weights after. When I ran that first mile I couldn't even think about working out after because I was SO exhausted. I was also working out 3-4 times a week. Now I'm working out 5-6 days a week, running a mile every day with a continuously faster mile time each day and doing 45 minutes to an hour of weights after. If you would've told me I would be without w minute or so of my mile time in high school at this point in my life I would've laughed at you. But I am! And it's true! And not only that but I'm LOVING it! Gym time is getting to be I of my favorite parts of the day! Guys. I'm just amazed. And I'm getting stronger every day too! Sorry. I just can't get over how awesome the human body is.
