just booked my first tattoo guys!!! going to sweden to get my first tattoo and i am SO excited

Here are some fun facts I know that I wanted to share with everyone:

Beowulf is the first known piece of old english literature

it was written between 975 and 1025 ad but takes place in the 6th century

it an epic poem 3182 alliterative lines long

its about Beowulf hero of the geats

the geats were a northern Germanic tribe that occupied modern say southern sweden

he comes to the aid of hrothgar the king of Danes after a giant attacks his mead hall

the Danes were a northern Germanic tribe that occupied modern day denmark

the giants name is grendel and he is supposedly a descendent of cain

beowulf kills him by pretending to sleep in the mead hall then grabbing grendels hand and ripping off his arm

then grendels mother discovers her son is dead and kills hrothgars most trusted advisor and loyal warrior

so Beowulf goes to her underwater cave and kills her with her own sword

then he finds grendels corpse and cuts off his head and the sword melts from his blood

after hes rewarded for his heroic acts he goes back to geatland and becomes king for 50 years

then someone steals a golden cup from a dragon who gets angry

beowulf goes to defeat the dragon with the help of his warriors

but they all get scared and run away except for one, who helps beowulf

beowulf dies from mortal wounds from the battle

so his people burn him on a pyre and create a barrow in his memory

beowulf is considered one of the most important pieces of old English literature

and lastly, in Sweden it is illegal to own just one guinea pit because they are social animals so having just one is considered animal abuse
