Tänk om question! I Google-translated "stadens inre väsen" (Swedish title of Ain't No Man Manhattan) and it says "The inner being of the city." Is it correct? :D Also what was the title of A Map of New York? Thanks!
It’s almost correct…väsen means essence so the correct title would be The essence of the city:D Väsen can mean about five different things in swedish though, so I guess that’s why the translator added inre=inner(also because just stadens väsen would be too short) otherwise Lucas could have been singing about the noise of a city or creatures from the swedish folklore, lol.
A map of New York is called En karta över stan which translates to A map of the city.

Haha, good question - If I’d known I’d have followers I’d probably have picked something more international. It means ‘Flame’ or more specifically, gout or tongue of flame.
Literally it translates to “Fire’s tongue”, and the prononunciation honestly isn’t too far from the english.
Elds [ ɛlds ] like in Elder, or, if you want to be specific, Seltzer water
Tunga [ tuŋa ] (too-ngue-a)
Fairly archaic word even in Swedish, no wonder people mostly just call me Elds.
so what do you call it in swedish? educate me pls
it's called a 'brygga' lmao
I’m going out of town for a couple of days so I had to pack some things to bring with me (besides, you know, clothes and all that boring stuff) to be productive even when away from home. Here’s what I packed :
Georges Bataille’s essay on erotism (for research)
My swedish lessons material (lessons, notebook + pencil case)
My bullet journal (because lists)
A sweater
The Red and the Black by Stendhal (currently reading)
I ended up leaving the book out of my backpack because, who am I kidding ? Of course I will read it today before I leave.
“Den här boken är fortsättningen på en annan.”
This book is the sequel of another.
It really feels like this swedish class is personalized to me ! I’m learning the most important stuff first, it seems.
