a/n: My first Obey Me ficlet had to be h/c, of course. Hope you enjoy this self-indulgent piece :)

Sobbing.

It had been the only sound that had filled their apartment for... days. Nearly a week, in fact.

It was difficult for them after leaving Devildom seemingly for good. Leaving the brothers behind with pieces of each of them. All their pact marks embedded in various places around their body. Since leaving, there were moments where it felt like they were burning. They simply wrote it off as nothing, though. There was no way they could possibly miss an insignificant human exchange student like them-

Suddenly the sound of their front door being knocked down interrupted their thoughts. Were... were they going to die? Well. It was about time.

Wrong. Completely wrong.

From their cocoon of blankets and pillows, they could see a head of familiar white hair and disappearing horns.

No... it couldn’t be.

After coming over to kneel down next to the side of the bed, they could see him clearly now. He looked like he had just run a marathon. Sweat pooling at his forehead, breathing heavily. A tan hand peeled back the endless blankets and looked at them, panicked eyes washing over their figure. He reached out, albeit hesitantly, and cupped one of their cheeks. Trying to wipe away the never-ending stream of tears on their pained face.

Seeing his face in real life and not on the pictures on their phone made them want to jump into his arms with relief. But their body felt like lead. “M-Mamo,” they whimpered softly.

“Sweet human... c’mere.” Mammon sighed and crawled into the bed next to them, coaxing them to lay on his chest between his legs. It was mortifying for him, truly. But there wasn’t time for that. His human needed him more than ever.

“The Great Mammon’s gonna do ya a favor and hold you, yeah?” he whispered into their hair.

For the past few days, he and the brothers had felt every ounce of hurt. But none of them made a move to visit them. First, since there would be consequences. Second, because they all knew of the deep, emotional bond they had formed with the Avatar of Greed throughout the exchange.

They clutched at his white shirt, crying the hardest since they had gotten back to the human world.

Their pact marks had stopped aching, but the white-haired man’s heart continued to. He could do nothing more than hold his precious human and whisper sweet nothings into their ear in hopes of comforting them even a bit.

“Ya should’ve summoned me if it was this bad…”

They shook their head. They couldn’t allow themself to summon the brothers after leaving. They... had lives to live. They were the Avatars, after all. A measly human couldn’t just summon them for something as stupid as comforting them with how busy they were. “C-couldn’t,” they blubbered.

He shushed them before they could get another word out and leaned down to press a kiss onto the top of their head. “Shh, I know, I know.”

After what seemed like hours, their crying had finally ceased. Now, they were left laying on top of the Avatar of greed, tracing little patterns onto his skin quietly. “S’gonna happen now?”

“I... I don’t know. But I’ll figure it out soon, ‘k? You’re my human. I can’t have ya crying like this anymore. So I’ll work somethin’ out so you can be back with everyone.” He clutched them tighter.

“Promise?”

“Promise.”

11. what you have for breakfast on an average day?

I grab and go on an average day; (like cookies, Tastykakes, lol) I’m too lazy to get myself up earlier than I do already. On weekends, I sleep to the point where my breakfast is considered lunch :)

26. favorite activity to do in warm weather?

I have a saltwater pool in my backyard and the weight of the water supports my weight so I feel free and able to walk :), it’s an amazing feeling.

27.  favorite activity to do in cold weather?

build a fort of pillows and blankets, watch Netflix in it, and drink hot cocoa. My lounge on snowy, cold weekend days :). I feel like a little kid again. 

39. lemon cake or lemon meringue pie?

Lemon meringue pie, I love pie so much regardless of dessert options :)
