I Guess Being Stood Up Saves Some Things

I can't find an angsty Sirius Black confession so I'm doing it myself.

CW: nothing. This is just a little sad and a little happy and it ends kinda cute. Enjoy :)

He knows it isn't right. You're mad at him, he's supposed to be mad at you. It's stupid, the way he ditches the boys for you.

He didn't mean to spy, he really didn't, but when he could see you outside, sitting by the black lake for an hour, and the distant but unmistakable way you wiped your tears... He left. He ran down to see you, stopping for a moment a couple paces behind you.

You hadn't heard him yet, but he could hear you.

"Stupid. Of course it was a joke, who would actually ask you out.." Sirius sits beside you and pulls a small box of 'Bertie Botts Every Flavour Beans' out of his pocket.

"Hi, bean?" You turn to him and stare for a moment, tears wetting your lashes and threatening to spill over, running down your cheeks like salty raindrops.

He smiles softly and places the box between you, taking a bean for himself. You love the beans enough that, even in darkness, you know the one he got would be good.

Mango. Or apple pie.

Sirius hums quietly, "apple pie, you sure you don't want one?" He offers, it was nicer this time, soft. The way he speaks to you is like he's trying to calm a unicorn calf.

You watch him for a moment. "I thought you were mad at me" you hate the way your voice sounds like you've been crying. You have, and you know he knows you have, but did you have to sound like it?

He shakes his head and looks out at the black lake, his fingers pulling at the grass nervously. "No, I mean, I was. Not anymore, not for a while" he sends you a shy smile. You aren't used to this side of Sirius, but lately, you've been seeing much more of it. You hate yourself for the way you melt over it.

"I've missed you" he murmurs, eyes watching the burning stars above. Your response is slow, and at first, he doesn't think you meant it. "I missed you, too. So much" he smiles to himself and it's silent for a long few moments.

"I think I might be a terrible person," for a moment, your mind races over the past few days. Was it a prank? Was he helping James bully Snape? Was this about their fight? Or about the glare he sent you when you said you'd had a date tonight? You pause, we all think we might be terrible people, but we never say it. So why, suddenly, is Sirius?

"I think I love you, and I'm really sorry if this ruins things for us, but if I can't be with you... I'm not sure I can be around you, not if you want me to stop" he admits, and for once, you're thankful that our voices betray us when we cry.

You hesitate, but eventually place your hand on his, ignoring the way he turns to look at you through his own tears as you stare at the sky.

"I think" you start, warmth spreading though your chest. "I might love you, too" you turn to him and smile at the way he looks at you. Eyes watching yours, tears make his eye lashes stand out more, and playful jealousy stings at you. Him and his stupidly pretty eye lashes.

You lean forward and place your forehead against his. "I don't want to lose you, Siri" the nickname slips out before you can stop it, but he doesn't seem to mind.

"You won't, I don't care how hard it is. Even if we try, and it doesn't work. I won't leave you. I promise." You nod and smile softly, pressing your lips to his cheek gently.

"Will you go to Hogsmeade with me?" You ask, your fingers toying with the grass alongside his as you wait for his answer.

"I'd hate myself if I said no" he grins and you roll your eyes. "Could of just said yes, you weirdo" laughter surrounds the two of you as he hides his face in your shoulder.

"Well, where's the fun in that, love?"

"It's fine I can handle it" you said with a smile on your face trying not to show the bags under your eyes u turned around quickly and walked away. You had been doing paper work for hours just for you to be handed more the second you finally get a break, your hands hurting from fixing mistakes that no one else would bother too since they knew you would do all the work for them. Never turning down any of it and if you ever did you would be called selfish for never helping others when it's really the other way around.

After rushing to finish to get home to the ginger headed boy you loved so much. You walked home quickly and wasted no time, opening the door to yourself you see a sleeping Ginger on the couch, you couldn't blame him you plopped down on the couch next to him and sighed your legs feeling sore from running around all day and fingers having bandaids from all the paper cuts you had. You got ready for bed not being bothered to shower and eat dinner but before you could even sleep you see a figure moving in the kitchen and hear plates being set down.

You turn and see a beautiful dinner, Minty meat rolls, Mora meat, Minty jelly, and your favorite desert. Making you smile even more. You make you way to sit down and see Childe getting ready too as well. You both start to eat dinner and chat for a while, (lemme got serious nowwww)

"So name would you like to go somewhere tomorrow" Childe said looking down at his empty plate. "I've realized you've been coming home late and leaving so early it's like you can't get a break from well... Work hehe." You frowned and looked down "I'm sorry Childe I can't tomorrow I have a really important meeting to go to and make up wor-" He slammed his fist on the Table "Name I would like you to call out tomorrow only for your health, I don't care about your meetings and shit!".He said " Childe I'm sorry but I cannot miss this meeting it's very important and I have t-". Again he cut you off nearly shouting at you this time "You are being overworked do you not realize this, you have been working late for the past 6 months not getting an ounce of sleep, and leaving at the crack of dawn, You do work for others that are to lazy to do it themselves and you're gonna sit here and tell me your not overworked."

He had a good point, The bags under your eyes had been getting more noticeable, no matter how much you tried to hide them, you looked like you haven't slept in days, weeks even, and you hadn't been eating properly, skipping breakfast, lunch, and sometimes dinner and just eating a snack right before you leave to work

Getting up from the table you walk to Childe and hug him, making him pause for a second but hug you back, you failed to realize that these things are noticed by the others that care for you, and will want to help you. After a long hug you started to put the dishes away only for Childe to stop you and send you to bed like you were gonna listen to him....

I mean of course you did you didn't wanna wash the dishes away ways and when to bed, you head resting on the pillow and feeling comfort in your own bed. You where fast asleep, when the sun came up you didn't even bother to get up for the first time in months you slept in and it felt great

So Cerberus made a clone of Shepard right? I refuse to believe that she was only for spare parts. That’s dumb when it’s possible to grow organs fairly easy. So my thought is that she was a spare but in the ‘ah shit Shepard is dead for reals… oh look we have Shepard right here and actually she does hate Aliens!!’ Way. Essentially a back up if Miranda had failed

Did this clone just form as an adult or was she quickly grown from like a baby?? Doesn’t really matter because this is my day dream. She is quickly grown and had the same kind of teaching as Grunt did. Lots of anti-alien stuff. Maybe some footage of the real Shepard’s fights. Like some of the most traumatizing body cam footage if that’s a thing. All beamed into the head of what is essentially a child. Which is also why I think the clone in canon is low key nuts. Imagine what Cerberus put in her head???

But instead of Brooks finding this clone and letting her finish growing, which is what I assume what happens considering she waiting quite a while to do her plan and the clone is still really not adjusted literally at all, Miranda does.

(It took me a while to decide that Miranda would be the one to find her but considering her past with clones and everything else this is more fun)

Miranda finds her in a Cerberus lab after Shepard goes to Not Jail after ME2. This lab would have had to be close to Shepard’s own thing but unconnected enough that Miranda wouldn’t have found out immediately, given her own experience with cloning and the like I doubt she would have liked the thought of Shepard going though the same thing. She would have objected to using the clone like that at some point.

But she finds a half grown clone of Shepard, probably like 10-ish in a lab and takes the tank. But what can she do?? She’s on the run and can’t reach Shepard?? About her fucking child clone?? But she can’t just leave this kid in a tank with Cerberus pouring bullshit in her ears???

That’s as far as I got really. At some point Miranda leaves the clone with Jack for a bit because she learned from the whole Niket thing that people can be bought out but there was no god damn way Jack would ever be bought out by Cerberus, but just imagine the jokes. Shepard at once thinks it’s really sweet that she apparently has a little sister now but also her sister has been accidentally adopted by Miranda.
