I've been admiring your inkling art for what feels like weeks now, and I wanted to ask how you became so fantastic at shading? (and amazing use of colors) I've just been having trouble understanding placement myself, but to me it looks like you've reached master class. Is there any chance I could ask for tips? oh gosh, its been a while since this was in my inbox, and i haven’t been sure how to answer! but first of all:
I’m flattered!! I really enjoy figuring out shading! However i wouldn’t say i’m a master at it by any means.However, having a basic understanding of how light and shadow works is definitely a plus!
Here’s a REALLY basic tip sheet on shading. I always reccomend looking up references to get an idea of how light interacts with the materials that it’s on!
Light and shadow can be hard to learn, but i find it really fun!there’s tons of tutorials online that can help you!try looking some up for yourself, i’m sure there’s many more tips than what I have here.

Please explain more about hermit craft and the war?? I've only owned minecraft a couple months but I love the community (and your blog/ btw I saw your header I love splatoon too)
Firstly, welcome to the minecraft community - I hope you’re having a blast! It’s always good to hear from someone who likes both Block Game and Squid Game.
As for Hermitcraft, it’s basically a collection of highly skilled minecraft YouTubers who play together on a whitelist server (invitation only). It’s divided into loose seasons that begin with a new theme for everyone to construct their worlds around. If you go to the official Hermitcraft website, you’ll find a list of the hermits and a link to all their YouTube and Twitch channels, etc. I’d start with Grian since he’s turned into a bit of a focal point for this season - at the very least, he’s the biggest troublemaker of the lot.
In any case, the “war” was just the culmination of a chain-reaction of pranks and cleverly misdirected blame that resulted in the formation of two teams that constructed bases and tried to continuously one-up eachother in terms of ridiculous pranks, while another group called ConCorp egged them both on and profited mightily from the battle. The whole affair was just a bunch of light-hearted fun for the hermits, although I understand that some of the individual hermits’ fans got a little too intense in the chat.
I won’t spoil it for you, I’ll just say that the whole thing was funny as hell. Season 6 (ongoing) has been the best so far in my opinion, since Grian’s arrival seems to have brought all the players together into more of a community - there are a lot more group activities than in previous seasons. Go watch it, it’s highly entertaining and you’ll learn a few tricks that the experts use in this game.
