Happy Friday! Thought I’d join in with Fic Friday, because I’ve been reading some great stuff recently!

Here’s a few DA fics I’ve been loving - check them out if you fancy:

- Swimming by Viscariafields (@nug-juggler​ on Tumblr) is a great FenHawke short fic. Skinny dipping, fluff - it’s got it all.

- Ivy & Twine by Merrills ( @sweethawke on here) is my favourite post-Tresspasser fic of all, full of pining, hurt/comfort, UST and all that good stuff. Features the Kirkwall crew and a delightful amount of Hot Northern Dad Blackwall/Rainier. The characterisation is amazing. Read it!!

- Pour Forth Thy Soul In Ecstasy by @midnightprelude and @oftachancer is just *chef kiss*. Following young Dorian after he’s placed in the Order of Argent and grows close with fellow student Rilienus, it’s currently at 14 chapters of gorgeousness. (Gets explicit, but is tagged/labelled appropriately!)

These seemed best together, so here’s a quick Merrill ficlet!

“Why are you whispering?” asked Merrill, coming up behind Hawke and Isabela, where they lurked in the shadows of the marketplace. “Are we sharing secrets?”

Isabela made a shushing motion with her hand, so Merrill repeated, more quietly, “Are we sharing secrets?”

“Oh yes, Kitten,” Isabela replied, “very scandalous ones.” She waggled her eyebrows for good measure.  

Hawke rolled their eyes, and corrected, “We’re following that man with the green hat, he’s a suspected blood mage or has ties to one, and we’re hoping he’ll lead us to his hideout.”

Merrill understood this to mean that the man was the bad sort of blood mage, so she refrained from pointing out that Hawke and Isabela, in fact, had very close ties to a blood mage as well. Perhaps they were being followed through the marketplace as well.  Merrill checked behind them, but saw no one whispering there. 

“I’m starting to think this isn’t the right guy,” Hawke muttered. The man in the hat continued to shop for oranges.

“Or maybe he knows you’re following him, and is acting like not-a-blood-mage? That’s what I do,” Merrill added helpfully.

“Be quiet! You’ll get us caught!” Hawke was a little more exasperated than usual.

Merrill shrugged, and went back to her interrupted shopping. She didn’t think she had been so loud. Anyway, she needed oranges too. The man in the green hat ignored her, as most shems did.

Behind her, Hawke and Isabela continued to be the most suspicious thing in the marketplace.

19 for avery from the inquisitor ask meme!

Do they have any scars? What are they from?

The first is the scar on her left cheek. She got that in a fight with a Templar who was harassing a younger recruit. Avery usually kept to herself, defiant but not actually actively picking fights, but this was too much. She was locked in solitary for two weeks but the Templar was transferred elsewhere. It’s the same reason she has a broken nose :)    

She also has this burn scar on her right cheek.That’s from an incident involving electricity magic + water. She has a similar burn down her shoulder. I’m still working out exactly what those details are but it's linked with the reason she’s scared of open bodies of water - electricity through water can hurt (or worse) and she knows that firsthand.

Arbor Blessing for Taremis pls!

Arbor Blessing :: What is the happiest ending you can think of for your character?

After the wild emotional ride that is trespasser, I think the best ending for Taremis would be retirement. He just disbands the Inquisition, rejoins his clan and reunites with his platonic soulmate Haleira, never having to worry about saving the world again. The boy got anxiety, let him rest. Taremis would also visit Tevinter frequently, to spend time with Dorian, but I think they have a pretty fulfilling long distance relationship. Unfortunately, this ending is not possible, thanks Solas.

However! I personally prefer bittersweet ending, which is coincidentally the fanfic I’m writing at the moment. (it’s still a long way away from being published, but hey!)

thanks to @sweethawke for the question! Ok so right of the bat I'll have to say The Magnus Archives (yeah I know) I was looking for some new podcasts to lisent to and the name was just everywhere. It's fantastic as long as you dont mind horror stories or characters dropping like flies.
