Happy Friday! Thought I’d join in with Fic Friday, because I’ve been reading some great stuff recently!

Here’s a few DA fics I’ve been loving - check them out if you fancy:

- Swimming by Viscariafields (@nug-juggler​ on Tumblr) is a great FenHawke short fic. Skinny dipping, fluff - it’s got it all.

- Ivy & Twine by Merrills ( @sweethawke on here) is my favourite post-Tresspasser fic of all, full of pining, hurt/comfort, UST and all that good stuff. Features the Kirkwall crew and a delightful amount of Hot Northern Dad Blackwall/Rainier. The characterisation is amazing. Read it!!

- Pour Forth Thy Soul In Ecstasy by @midnightprelude and @oftachancer is just *chef kiss*. Following young Dorian after he’s placed in the Order of Argent and grows close with fellow student Rilienus, it’s currently at 14 chapters of gorgeousness. (Gets explicit, but is tagged/labelled appropriately!)

Happy Friday! It’s that time of the week again - here are some fics I’ve been loving recently: 
- i hear the colours in the flowers by Aubergion @aubergion a really great one-shot about Sera and the Inquisitor reacting to the rollercoaster ride that is everything that happens in Trespasser, told from Sera’s POV. The way her voice is written is just insanely good, and as someone filled with Catholic guilt at all times, I’ve got to love anything tagged ‘crises of faith’. 


- So I Prayed To Her Today by ThingHeLoves is the Eleanor Cousland character study that I have been yearning for because she’s cool as FUCK. Another beautifully written fic, all about family and love and mother-daughter relationships.


- An Impulse Decision by Gremkt @kirkwallgremlin - I’m weak for some Carvistair, what can I say, and this is just 10/10, very good, fantastic work. The Deep Roads, first kisses…what more could you want?


- A Ride Gone Awry by merrills @sweethawke is some VERY sweet Cullavellan fluff that made me realise I was more into Cullavellan than I thought. Cullen instructs the Inquisitor on horseback riding, and cute things happen.


- Temperance by Allisondraste @allisondraste is the fic that got me into Nathaniel/Cousland and charts their relationship as it develops from childhood friends to something more, alternating between past and present. All I can say is read it, because it is amazing.

Anyways y’all if you want to learn shit, I suggest these books. As you can see, I’m reading the Psychology one, but they have an Art, Business, Economics, History, Literature, Movies, Philosophy, Politics, Religions, Science, Shakespeare and Sociology book, so this series is good if you want to learn about a subject, or learn stuff for fun, really quickly. They have diagrams and everything is separated by category so you can figure stuff out better.

A Delicate Arrangement by @the-lady-magician - Fake/pretend relationship with slow burn??? Ahhhh, I’m dying. I adore this fic. It’s so gorgeous.

Dreams and Fables by erelis - Avvar Thane!Cullen and adorably bewildered Dorian? Mmm, yes, give it to me. 

Gentle Beasts Both by @stonelions - Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous modern AU Cullrian that you simply must read. So sweet and bittersweet and beautiful.

Only True In Fairy Tales by dragonflies_and_katydids - Another absolute must read. Modern AU and just wonderfully well written and vivid and realistic.

Two If By Chance by starkhavened - Chef!Cullen and fashion designer!Dorian. Bring it on! Wonderful fic!

Coulson Lives, but the Avengers might be the death of him by NiennaNir - Lots of little fic about life in general and the Avengers’ lives in particular. Funny and angsty and wonderful.

In Which Tony Stark Builds Himself Some Friends (But His Family Was Assigned by Nick Fury) - This is the main storyline. It’s wonderful and funny and sort of slow burn and Tony breaks my heart, as always.

Phil Coulson's Case Files of the Toasterverse - These are all the side stories from the Toasterverse. Funny and wonderful and there is a chronological order listed for them.

Fluffy, Friendly, Tempered Death by imaginary_golux - Everyone thinks Finn is a sweetheart. He’s not. (Well, he is but he’s also not.) Poe thinks this is hot. This fic.... competent Finn is my jam and this fic delivers in spades.

The General’s Apprentice by imaginary_golux - Rey might be Luke’s apprentice but Finn is the General’s apprentice. Mmmm, force user!Finn being awesome. Love this fic!

Hopeless Romantic by imaginary_golux - I think the summary for this fic says it best -  Poe is smitten. Finn is adorable. Jessika is so done with these hopeless idiots. - Stormpilot sexy fluff at its best!

A Great and Gruesome Height by mokuyoubi - Just a gorgeous and glorious set of fics set post Season 3. Just a warning - they are not for the faint-hearted. This is the Murder Husbands in all their glory (so to speak). So pay attention to the rating and the tags.

Silver Springs by @lifesbetterasamermaid // gigat – this story has me feeling all types of ways. Its post break up, post band hiatus BUT not the band you’re thinking of. It’s so well written and full of all kinds of mystery but never in the obvious way. Sav is really good at the slow revel, I think. I cant get enough of these characters, this story, and the angst that comes along with it.

Carried away by @whimsicalstylesfics – everyone knows I love isbah, and her work. She is so amazing in like, every aspect. This story is really cool because it features an ofc who has a best friend in niall and a crush on Harry, which is just how I want my life to be. Isbah has multiple other great stories you should check out! A persuasion au, and Art!Zayn fic, and a brand new zayn fic where he is a sultan?!?! pretty amazing, i know!

Reckless Abandon by @jetblackkhearts // hufflspuff – wow. Just wow. So much heartache packed into the first chapter. Heather wrote this first chapter brilliantly to set up an amazing kind of pain. It switches pov in all the right ways to get you so, so emotional. I am such a fan of this story. She also has so many other stories that i have yet to read due to my own awfulness, but i know they are great, along with the many she is planning to post! :)

Turned around by @mindwcrdsfics // mindwcrds - Only one chapter is out but already has me begging for more. Its a post break up au, or maybe an almost post break up au? i may be wrong but i think the second chapter jumps back in time?? Either way, do yourself a kindness and read the first chapter. sure youre heart will be ripped out, but sometimes that can be fun :) (since writing this she posted a second chapter and let me just tell you *ok hand emoji a million times* it was perfect.)

Fallen Stars by @stylesmyth - I LOVE ASH! I LOVE HER WRITING! I LOVE THIS STORY! its legitimately so intricate and well thought out. she created an entire world like ive never before read in a fic, and you all should go become a part of it (except not really because its dystopian and things get a little touchy, but still, read it and love it with me!). Astrid and Harry are in OTP territory. 

Holding on to a broken and empty heart by @booksncoffee - POST BREAK UP GLORY!! eriza is always always always an amazing writer, and in this fic, she comes for your heart right away. the main character is so broken and changed over what happened between her and Harry that it aches to read. im 100% for it :) alllllllsoooooo, eriza is working on another fic that I am shaking with anticipation in wait for!!! be on the look out for that.

Stuck on you by @britslouis // southernsunsets - this fic right here… THIS FIC! talk about messing a person up. the ofc and harry are so charming and witty. the entire time you get so built up on their attraction, and then… ally doesnt disappoint... but makes it go another way. youre like “haha this is so cute. I ship it.” and then youre like, “lol. boy quit playing.” and then youre like “damn, thats hot.” just a full spectrum of emotions, really.

Heart on my cheek by @morgan-christine // morgantutt_ - a minific thats ofc is sassy and fun and likes to have a good time. i think this fic is going to go all kinds of wonderful places, and it has been such a joy to read the first chapter. Morgan has a post break up au coming, which if you havent noticed, is my thing, so you know im excited about that.

Room 93 by @paynethecreator // stylesreject - okay, so i have not finished this fic because i am the worst. i promise that. but the beginning of this is so amazing. Dana did something really special with this fic - writing in such beautiful prose. I am waiting for myself to get myself together so i can finish this beauty. One day soon it will happen. 

Coming up roses by @primetimewritings // primetimewrites - i have read one chapter of this and its perfection. the ofc is the daughter of the prime minister and she is dating liam who is the sweetest boyfriend (from what ive gathered). i really need to get my stuff together and read this.

Goffin and King by @fromherlips // francesahoy - I have yet to get to this one, but it is so high on my list. it looks just up my alley. i have heard incredible things about this fic and know that fran is such a spectacular writer. when i do get to this, there is no possible way i could be disappointed... you know what? im actually going to go start it right now...

(okay, so this is where the rest of my fic rec randomly disappeared, and i am not sure why or even how. maybe i published an old draft?? but it still tagged steph in it so idk?? but thanks to steph for pointing it out in her tags :) i hope i remember everyone i originally mentioned because i am writing this part all over again!)

What a feeling by @ninetyfovr // stylmao - also one i havent gotten to but man, do i need to! its centered around Christmas if im not mistaken, or the build up to it. it just seems like everything i would need to fall in love with a fic - holiday time, broken hearts, beautiful writing.

Say those three words by @ticketchanges - a fic i never knew i needed. a gossip girl au. steph just posted the first chapter and everything about it was so spot on. my love of gossip girl and therefore chuck bass, goes years further than my one direction love. Steph manages to merge these two things together for us so well. the dialogue was so spot on that i think she may have actually written for the show?? i think so.. definitely read this!

Espresso kiss by @stylescurlsgetthegirls - ok, another one i havent read but i 100% know i love. it deals with winter and coffee and... ex boyfriends. it just has that amazing feel when i read the summary where i know ill love it. there is no way i couldnt. when i do read this, i am sure i will spend many a hours ranting and raving about it <3
