Day Five: My weekly "cheats" so far
This is where I become fully accountable to my audience. I have been babysitting for kids who quite possibly have some of the worst eating habits I've ever seen. I watch them around dinner time and do not have the fruit/veggie resources at their house that I have at mine (in other words, not nearly as much volume of food). So while there, I have had a few "cheat moments" because I'm just so hungry!
This week, the things I've been eating that I shouldn't be include:
One slice of cinnamon bread
One Hawaiian roll
Gummy vitamins (but you already know about that...)
3 Tortellinis
Honestly, in the scheme of things, that's not so bad.ย Especially when the majority of my calories are from fruits and veggies. However, it does show me that I have a serious sweet tooth that I need to curb. I could reach for a number of other "cheats" at their house but I tend to go for the white carbs, especially the sweetened ones. The other thing I've been doing, which is difficult to give up, is snacking. I get ancy for a snack around 3 pm and I'm not sure what to do about it. It is definitely impeding my ability to feel "true hunger." My snacks have always been healthy, so far, but I really want to break that habit for a while.
So, today is day five and we'll see if I can do better since I'm not working today and will have better control over my environment. I will keep you posted. It's hard quitting so many things at once cold turkey!
