Exactly. This is why I loved Raimi’s trilogy. This is grounded and realistic without being dark and gritty - these people saw one of their own, a young boy vastly outmatched by a force far beyond his own control, and they showed kindness and empathy. And then there’s “child soldier recruited by an arms manufacturer who literally gave him a Northrop Grumman killing machine for a suit”. The web-shooters vs organic webs thing is also an example - the organic webs are designed by a kid with an aptitude for high school chemistry - the MCU web-shooters are ridiculously advanced tech. There’s this article about how the evolution from Raimi’s trilogy to the MCU robbed Spiderman of his working class roots and it’s a really interesting analysis which touches on these points, and quite a few others.

idk if this is a phenomenon that has a name yet but like. scheduling doctor's appointments when you work a 9-5 job is really fucking hard when said doctors' offices are also open 9-5 and closed any time i could actually make it without needing to take PTO. im lucky bc my boss doesn't care if i duck out for under an hour for medical stuff but he very easily could force me to submit PTO for all of it. staying healthy in this country is such a hellscape on so many levels

Do you ever wonder how much you exist in other people’s lives? I’m always curious if people think of me when a certain song comes on, or when they pass through a certain town. I wonder how many stories I’ve been a part of that I may have forgotten. I wonder if I still I exist in the minds of people that I don’t speak to anymore. I wonder how many times a day I pass through someone’s head.
