Last time I visited my parents I went to my dad's work and a lady was like "aw is school out today?" I'm 23... once with my mom a cashier thought we were shopping for the new school year. I was 22 at this point. I think its being with my parents that confuse people?

Hey! I have a question. I’m getting my bachelors now in liberal arts bc I’m in the military and there are no linguistic programs online or around me, but I really want a linguistics degree. After I finish this BA and get out of the military, should I get another bachelors in linguistics, or a masters in linguistics? I’m nervous to get a masters if I’ve never taken linguistics classes or in person college classes. How should I go about deciding? Is it a waste of time to get 2 bachelors? Thanks!

Hi,i’m not so familiar with how MA programs in the USA work; in Germany, it would be depending on the individual masters’ programs whether they’d admit you with or without a BA in linguistics. If they do and you try it without a BA in linguistics, you should be aware that the MA program will probably assume that you have basic knowledge in linguistics, most will therefore not offer introductory courses for MA students. You would need to acquire the relevant knowledge on your own, or by sitting in on BA courses, which will also take time.  I’d suggest you start by looking at which linguistics masters program interests you, then find out whether they’d admit you without a ling BA or not or what other requirements and regulations there are, and then decide. It’s always a good idea to contact the department and get advice from someone familiar with the program. Good luck!

yep, that’s been going around since it was first announced it was moved to Fridays :((((( I don’t like to think about it ending, but honestly we’re lucky we even got this new season.

who knows what’s gonna happen from here, but I’m gonna try to enjoy it while it lasts either way!! I’ve missed Daisy so much, and I’m so excited to have her back soon!!

for the anonymous who asked about punk rock with POC members, there is this super cool band called Oxymorrons, and there's another singer named Hejira (the only song I've listen to by her is called I don't belong to anyone, but it's awesome). I follow afro-punk on facebook and they'll post about pretty cool artists now and again.

hey just curious, regarding the post about alfie enoch identifying as latino. is that something you can chose to identify as? i thought you were latinx if one of your parents were latinx

Well honestly we’ve had some conflicting opinions from Brazilians (search brazil and brazilians on our blog to see these) some Brazilians don’t want to be referred to as “Latinx”.  So I don’t want to presume that Alfie wants to identify as Latinx.
