1/19/19 👶🦈A baby Swell shark is born! Just hours out of its egg casing, it got out by using its rough tooth-like scales called derma denticles. As a shark grows, it will shed the scales and replace them. Baby.....shark! 🎶🎶 Momma swell sharks (cephaloscyllium ventriosum) lay eggs, sometimes called mermaid purses, which take 9 - 12 weeks to develop.
