The Power of Taylor Swift is Real, Guys
I was on the patio at a bar lounge enjoying a nice glass or three of wine on a first date and @taylorswift started playing and I started swaying back and forth to Wildest Dreams while my date (most beautiful man I’ve ever seen btw) was talking to me.
Then this woman comes out in a full-on blanket and sees me enjoying God’s gift (wine and Taylor), and she declares that she told the bartender to play a full playlist of just Taylor songs.
She sits down and I said “you have no idea what you’ve done to me” and the next song plays (Shake It Off). And then we, for the next half hour, go through and list out top favorite songs (All Too Well at the top, obviously, even though we know it hurts Taylor to perform it) and favorite lyrics and what songs will be played at our weddings (yep, my date was still there), and basically everything the fandom talks about together.
Right before the girl goes inside, she PAUSES AND SAYS “YOU’RE MY BEST FRIEND, and I know you’re on a date with this fine man, but we’re soulmates.”
And I was like “No. We’re Swiftmates.”
That’s it, that’s the end of the story. Thank you. Let’s all appreciate Taylor for bringing two adults together like the magical being she is.
P.S. The date continued on and went very well.
