trans swiftpaw headcanons
yes i am going to spend a long time on these bc i relate to this battle cat and im going to project all over him too. anyway, onto me rambling for a while:
-first off, i do think that the clans wouldn’t be very accepting of those kinds of things as a whole. different cats all have different views on lgbt+ warriors but the clan culture however isn’t very accepting. they prioritise providing for the clan and same sex pairs aren’t able to do that easily, as are trans cats, so clan culture isn’t very welcoming. it isn’t punished and isn’t a part of the warrior code, but can result in some cats being rude and awful
-i enjoy the hc that goldenflower and tigerstar are swiftpaw’s parents too, goldenflower just covered it up because she knew how much trouble her son was already having while trying to become a warrior
-swiftkit was always closest to his brother lynxkit and could never understand why he wasn’t considered lynxkit’s brother. lynxkit never paid any attention to that. swiftkit was his brother and that was all
-goldenflower was also extremely supportive, especially after lynxkit died. she argued with many cats because they were shooting nasty remarks swiftpaw’s way. she refused to back down when she was told to calm down, and fought to have him accepted
-due to how things had been when he’d been very young, swiftpaw struggled to feel like he was as good as his peers. he was jealous of cloudpaw because things came so easily to him, since fireheart was his uncle/mentor and bluestar had plenty of favouritism directed towards him
-swiftpaw struggled a lot with being expected to go and become a queen, when all he really wanted to do was be a warrior. he trained as hard as possible, hoping that maybe his clanmates would forget about pressuring him to have kits if he could just prove himself
-brightpaw used to help him groom his fur to look more the way he wanted it to and they’d decorate his fur using traditionally masculine plant jewellry in clan culture
