He had seen those colors flashing, and the sirens wailing, but the situation was still unclear to him. He was on his way to his swim practice when something happened. Something hit him. Something that caused his car to roll. Something that snapped his legs in half, something all too real. He blacked out from the pain.

His best friend and team mate since childhood, Rin Matsuoka has made sure to be the first there to see him, but he wasn’t prepared for what he had heard. Due to the severeness of his injuries, Olympic hopeful Haruka Nanase would never walk again. Ending his career before it even started, causing the red head to burst into tears, hysterically crying into another man’s chest. He was taller, dark hair, but he knew how painful this had to be.

The next thing Haru knew he was in a hospital room. The doctor’s had decided to postpone telling him about his disability until he was stabilized, not wanting to bring about something that would further worsen his condition. Sousuke had taken Rin home. Knowing he was in no state to see Haru today. At least not without having a mental breakdown when he saw him, but he would be back.

Gingerly cradling a frozen sakura sprig between his hands, Makoto slooowly crept up on Rin from behind, hoping to surprise him with it. He’d just caught his parents at the end of the annual cleaning-of-the-fridge, and as luck would have it, there was a preserved blossom sitting in the door of the freezer! Having it out meant that it was now or never to enjoy its delicate beauty, and it was a blessing that Rin happened to be nearby.

“Rin~ Look what I found!” Holding the blossoms up as if it were mistletoe, Makoto stepped around to where Rin could see him and offered him the flowers. “I forgot I had this, and I thought you might like it, since sakura season is over for the year and all.” That just might make this the last blossom of the year~

“Nitori-san!” Rei called, quickly hurrying to catch up. They had been walking to a group practice, since they rode the same rain, but Rei had gotten distracted by a patch of Queen Anne’s Lace. One he jogged up he caught his breath, holding out a bundle to him. “Here.”

[Nitori] He lightly laughed, and showed a more mellow smile to his friend. Rei had certainly received the joke better than he had after first hearing it. "It's nothing," he hummed, waving his hand a little. "It's just something I heard from Nagisa-san."

“N-Nagisa-kun told you that joke!?” He said, appauled. His view of Nitori, and Nagisa for that matter, were changing quite a bit in a short amount of time. “W-Would you care to explain the joke!?”

[Nitori] Ai closed his eyes. "But, I bet if I were on you, I'd be coming too," he murmured, and smirked not unlike how Rin would, gazing back at his friend.

“W-What!?” He said, surprised. He wasn’t sure whether or not to take that in a sexual way– it sounded like it shoul dbe, however, it was coming from Nitori!
