20 December, 2016.
It has been seven years since I graduated from highschool and it’s finally time for graduation 2.0 - the one my parents thought would never happen. I still haven’t gotten the hang of referencing, still struggle walking up the six flights of stairs to class (yes I know technology has evolved and there are not only escalators but also elevators!! But that’s my only form of exercise), I carry more food than books around in my bag and in my last week of classes, I rocked up to class an hour early because 11 weeks clearly isn’t enough to remember your own timetable off by heart. I remember spending two whole weeks taking photos of blue objects all in the name of my ~education~, I still can’t draw anything other than stick figures and I’m pretty sure I can recall painting with a brush in my mouth at one point.
All of that being said though, I feel so incredibly lucky to have found something that makes my heart feel full. I may not be the best at what I do but I have so much fun in the process of trying to be. Most importantly, I’m grateful to everyone I’ve met in the last three years - you’re all truly great, and that’s probably an understatement. And of course, everyone whose presence has graced my life, whether it be permanent, temporary or passing, you’ve all played a part and I wouldn’t have been able to do this without you guys. Big love x
