At first I thought, Uregghhh there is a big puddle after the last jump on #babymaker at #swinleyforest but then it became a challenge to see if I could land in it. Sploooosh, giggle mode enabled and yea I did manage to land the bike in the puddle. Back to my happy place #90smtb #retromtb Just out having a load of fun messing about on the trails at #swinleyforest There are many things I love about this bike but the brakes in the wet are shocking. Disc brakes are the best thing ever. Oh and this ride I say goodbye to the tyres - circa 91 farmer John and farmer John’s cousin. Both let go at the sidewalls. Not bad though for 30yr old tyres, and surprised how well they gripped. Such a shame. Oh well now I need some lovely tan wall #26er tyres. 🤦🏻♂️ #26aintdead it’s back and better than ever. Watch out for the #swinleyforest big cat. It has razor sharp teeth, claws and jumps out on you on the downhills. Or it’s just people joining a trail half way when you are on one and you snag your pedal 🤣🤣 Look I get it, people like the jump at babymaker and can’t be bothered to go from the top but look out for those that are coming in fast as we tend to catch you right on #wilkinsleap when we are committed. What an absolute slither, slide and slop ride around #swinleyforest this afternoon. Within about 2 miles from home at the first sign of mud that was it for the brakes and they didn’t really play a part for most of the ride. #deathgrip #nobrakes #vbrakessuck 🤣🤣 Oh well that and destroying a two ride set of rear pads and another wheel it was a great ride. #26aintdead it’s run out of rear wheels so will have to take a break for a bit. Night riding can be a real challenge - especially when you discover on a downhill your lights are facing the sky suddenly after a big bump. I felt I had the forest to myself last night, so just took it easy and discovered a few new lines on old trails. Normally I am going much faster so don’t take the time to look about.
