Swipe raises Rs 30 crore funding from Kalaari Capital

  Mobile technology start-up Swipe Telecom has announced that it has raised Rs 30 crore in venture capital funding from Kalaari Capital. Swipe is a leading mobile technology company that develops and markets innovative Tablets and Fablets (large smart phones) in India.

Swipe has the widest range of Tablets and Fablets (total 23 devices launched till date), of which Swipe has the distinction of being the first to launch 16 new products with no pre-existing equivalents, including the first 3D Tablet and the first Tablet customized for kids in India.

Swipe Telecom launches 6.5” 3G Fablet Halo Fone

    National, 23rd March, 2014: Swipe Telecom, a leading Tablet provider in India has launched a 3G calling enabled fablet, Halo Fone.  Priced at Rs. 6,999,  the Halo Fone adds to Swipe’s existing range of ‘Halo’ products which features a unique design blending the form factor of a tablet with the portability and functionality of a Smartphone.

  The Halo Fone may be light on the pocket, but is heavy on its looks with a sleek design and weighs 235 grams. The Halo Fone combines features of Smartphone with that of a Tablet PC.

  With an LCD size of 6.5” and One-Glass Solution (OGS) capacitive touchscreen display that supports a resolution of 800×480 pixels, the Halo Fone provides a video viewing experience closest to that of a tablet.   California-based Swipe Telecom has strengthened its presence in the Fablet segment, with the launch of Swipe Fablet F2- 2G Dual SIM Smartphone Fablet and Swipe Fablet F3 -A Fablet with 4.1 Jelly Bean OS.

First 3D Tablet in India Launched via Swipe Telecom

India's first 3D Tablet, the Swipe 3D LIFE, was introduced by the technology start-up company based in California, Swipe Telecom. The company said the device is aimed at kids and the youth, looking for a different kind of 3D gaming experience. Swipe Telecom is currently backed by Mantra Venture. 

The founder and CEO of Swipe Telecom, Shripal Gandhi, expressed his confidence in the new product, with its 7-inch TFT, five point touch capacitive screen with an 800 x 400 pixel resolution. Not only can the tablet play videos for 5-6 hours, it also has a 2 MP camera.

Mr. Gandhi expressed his excitement in introducing the cutting-edge product he believed would do well in the Indian market. High-tech tablets have been gaining a lot of following, and the South Asian nation has a market which can absorb such products at competitive prices.

The Swipe 3D Life runs on OS: Android 4.03 and has a 4 GB internal memory which is also expandable.

The increased demand for gaming tablets is also manifested in the recent news that Google's 16 GB Nexus 7 sold out in the US Market.
