Marietta was rather shocked to receive an invitation for lunch from Michael Corner. Honestly after all that had happened she had expected him to avoid her at all costs. But, here they were. They had decided on ‘The Feather & Thorn' considering its close proximity to St. Mungos, where Michael worked. The setting was very comfortable and homey, which helped immensely in calming Marietta's nerves. She wasn't really sure why she was so on edge, but for some reason her anxiety level was through the roof.
She arrived only a few minutes before Michael, allowing her sufficient time to settle and choose a nice table. Naturally, she picked one that was out of the way; so as to give them privacy and hopefully avoid more drama. She then sat and waited for her company to arrive, surveying her surroundings to pass the time. When Michael sat opposite her, Marietta jumped slightly. She had been so lost in thought that she hadn't seen him come in. “Oh, hey. I didn't see you there.” Her voice carried more confidence than she'd anticipated and she smiled as warmly as possible.
