Swipper
A sneaky and pesky kleptomaniac, Swipper is a mischievous fox who just cannot help himself but steal whatever it is that he can get his hands on. He does not take these things because he needs them or even wants them, he just 'swipes' items because they are there and within his grasp. These antics are often quite vexing to Dora the Explorer in that Swipper so frequently takes items that are pivotal clues to her accomplishing whatever adventure she is involved in.
Swipper’s kleptomania appears to be rooted in a type of obsessive compulsive neurosis. If Dora can manage to say ‘Swipper no Swipping’ three times before the fox steals a given item, it has the effect of assuaging his compulsion and he will slink off without taking anything.
Actor Marc Weiner provides the voice for Swipper, with the felonious fox first appearing in the debut episode of Dora The Explorer, airing on August 14th, 2000. ¡Swiper sin deslizar!
