Wishing You Were Here (30” x 60”)... I just finished painting this piece, and felt that the title is perhaps representative of this year! I can’t wait for us to all get vaccinated so that we can be together with our loved ones, worry-free... that moment is coming soon! Just hold on tight and keep busy, and our time will arrive. In the meantime, enjoy the little lessons that this time has (hopefully) taught us: patience, tolerance, love, support. Look for silver linings, as they are out there. For me: more time to explore in my studio, I learned a new art: rug hooking, I have gotten better at making videos, I’m enjoying time spent with my husband, doing things together. Ditto for the dogs. The client said YES to the commissioned painting! So all that remains for me to do is to sign and varnish it. Oh, and then it will need to be properly photographed, and documented in my database of artworks. When the paint (and varnish) cure, she will then be packed and shipped to her new home in Miami. Sing Me a Song! Music and the visual arts go hand in hand, in my opinion. Cranking tunes in my studio and moving is a sure-fire way for me to get inspired.
