Her original post made me smile from ear to ear! "So, the other day I got my art program working (not sure how long it'll last) and I decided to draw @mermaid_iona . I'm honestly kind of shocked I haven't drawn her yet. Iona was the first mer to ever contact me and introduced me to the entire community on MerNetwork. 3 years ago, when I started my silly little hobby of mermaiding, I had no idea there was such a thing. Iona was the first mermaid I started following on dA and YouTube and a major inspiration for baby mermaid me. She's the one who made the seaweed earrings I can't live underwater without. She was the reason I wanted a Merbellas tail. I remember screaming my head off when she commented on one of my mermaiding photos, inviting me to MerNetwork. I'm sure I would've gotten here eventually but I met some amazing people there, including one of my best friends. Iona, you will always be my personal hero, thank you for everything you've done for me as a hatchling and for continuing to be an inspiration to me and other young mers"
