How CNC Precision Machining Influenced the Aerospace Industry
The use of Computer Numerical Control (CNC) has developed to what it is today after the boom of the aircraft industry in WWII. Its ability to produce more accurate and complex parts has improved the processes and equipment of aerospace companies.
A PC controls a machine’s function through numerical control. The computer controls the exact positioning and velocity. It runs all the features, such as feed rate, coordination, location and speed.
CNC’s Essential System
CNC allowed a tremendous increase in the productivity of machine tools with its automatic operation without requiring constant attention. Berkness Swiss says that CNC precision machining manufactures complex components for the most demanding markets, including the aerospace, defense, industrial, medical, and telecommunication sectors.
CNC machining equipment allows taking a large design file, breaking it down into smaller components, and converting it to number-based machine functions. The charm of machining equipment is it can create each individual part needed to complete the design.
For the past years, aerospace customers have been using CNC precision machining. It can perform important tasks such as drilling, cutting and trimming of parts, honeycomb cutting and aluminum sheet stack cutting.
CNC Precision Machining Role in Aerospace
The CNC’s high-speed spindles are ideal for milling aluminum control panels, leaving clean aerospace parts. Its precision and consistency has become a must for aerospace components. The machine has made aircraft parts meet regulatory specifications by producing them according to the exact detail the aerospace industry requires.
A variety of jet engine components use CNC machining services to accomplish the quantity requirement. The process use aluminum, steel, and titanium to produce high-quality components.
The vacuum, pressure and helium testing ensure that the products can withstand the stress associated with aerospace performance.
Precision machining made aerospace parts with accuracy and quality. The CNC precision machine cuts the same precise shapes over and over again and is capable of working with various ranges of materials. The innovation has quickly changed the production of aerospace industry to what it is today.
I was so stoked to see Ueli Steck tonight in DC. Ended up getting there early by accident, but the American Alpine Club asked me to photograph the event for them. Not too good at photography, but I had a great time meeting Ueli and some of the ladies in charge at the American Alpine Club.
Thanks to Peter and Elizabeth Banks, I am now a more inspired person.
Adapted to law school life, we are around the 2:00 mark in the video.
Excited for progress? ohh yea.
