White dog on a white rug. Oil painting. Painting really is about the process to me. While making this painting I got stuck a couple of times, until I realized It wasn’t clear to me why this subject interested me. I knew I wanted to paint it, but I couldn’t put my finger on why I wanted to. Then I found out it was the subtle values and edges that spoke to me. I started with a bold graphic approach which didn’t work for what I actually wanted to say. So I changed my approach and then pieces started to fall into place.
