Day 2 (part 4): Reichenbachfall, Meiringen.
The red circle in the first pic shows the place where the spot is marked by white star where the supposed fight between Holmes and Moriarty happened. As you can see, it’s quite to the side of the fall, but I’ve read somewhere that according to old photos and information, the fall moved inside the rock and to the right a bit during the years, so this might be where it used to be in 1890′s. Or maybe they just didn’t want tourists to go dangerously near the water, hee :)) who knows.
Then you have the view of the fall from the point where the star is, and there is also another nice plaque :)
Next line of pics is the ribbons from a in-memoriam wreath, which is hanged on the rock. It’s quite touching. I like the text that they used.
Next picture is the view of the top station of the furnicular from the white star point. Also, you can see Meiringen in the background.
Then you have another full shot of the fall, just for the pretty :) (tiny people in the right bottom)
The next one is the fall from above - taken from the utmost top - there is a ledge so you can actually cross the water here. Red circe, again, shows how tiny people are from this height. Wow! Not for those with vertigo!
Last picture is the view of Alps from the viewing platform on the top of the fall.
