Hello :) I'm currently taking the marvelon contraceptive pill. How do I change my taking time from 11pm to 9/10 am safely, keeping protected? I'm planning to skip my break week as I'm moving to uni & want to avoid the added stress of periods... I've read diff answers on changing mid pack so would really appreciate help :)
Good question! Marvelon is a combined birth control pill - so that means it has both estrogen and progesterone. Luckily, this makes the switch much easier.
Today, take your pill at 11pm as per usual.
Tomorrow take it at 10am.
From then on, take it at 10 am.
Done. In other situations it’s not as easy, but with combined birth control pills the situation is more stable. The trick is to make the interval the shortest - so never go more than 24 hrs when switching times so that the hormone levels stay high enough in your blood.
