H O N E S T L Y, It’s not even just a small show either, Mantis breaks down because of HOW MUCH he feels. How much pain he has for his losses, even so long after the fact. Even after he has seen the killer of his wife & child destroyed. He can’t be free of the pains of that loss, it’s something that won’t be numbed for him. & I guarantee you, he is scared to face that loss again. Even for Mantis, who he knew for such a short time, he was willing to die to use every last piece of his strength to protect what mattered to him from death. (( And yes the whole scene with the rock that hits Mantis puts a bit of questionability on this,  but, none of them saw that coming. Drax simply doesn’t know how to react there. He still goes far & beyond to get her to safety ))

And god, I just need more of the Guardians to be able to take the time to know these things about Drax. I’m sure they no longer see him as just a machine of rage and vengeance, but I stand pretty firmly on Mantis being the first to FULLY know him on such a level thanks to her ability. & that last moment between them, where Drax tells her she’s beautiful on the inside. I know it’s seen as a haha moment, but like. It was??? so good??? As you can tell I’m a bit obsessed with Mantis & Drax’s relationship.

          How long had it even been? Months now, surely. The season had changed. That odd... other state he’d been in had passed. Time ticked forward, and yet Daryl remained transfixed in the same place as ever. Helpless mourning, desperate searching. Longing for people and places he could no longer see or exist in the presence of. Life moved on, and yet the last Dixon remained stubbornly fixed in the same place as ever. He wandered the streets like a specter, a man and his dog, two strangers in a world they didn’t belong.

          Or so he’d thought, until tired eyes caught a familiar sight. An old, worn hat and a flannel. Carl? No, it couldn’t be. He stood, stunned in fear even as Dog rushed forward to the familiar figure. When they - when she - turned, it was all Daryl could do to keep from breaking down on the spot. Judith. He bit down hard on the inside of his cheek as he approached, unsure where to even begin. “Hay little Ass-kicker.” He managed, a small smirk turning up his lips. What could he say? What should he do? Was she here alone? How long had she been here while he hid away, so desperate for solitude? “I... It’s good t’ see ya.”

Such a small girl. Humans were very common in Opalaria, so Setsuna couldn’t decide on sight whether or not she wanted the girl to be from Spirale or this world. Were the people of this place going to be safe, eventually?

Brushing the thought aside, she approached with her fingers laced together behind her back. “Are you all right?” she asked with a small smile. Although the girl didn’t look particularly upset, some were holding it in. Setsuna lifted a lingering gaze up at the great tree.

“A lot has happened lately.”

14 - Physical abnormalities? (Both visible and not, including injuries/disabilities, long-term illnesses, food-intolerances, etc.)

  - The most obvious of all--despite it being purposeful--would be the scarification that Drax wears. As discussed in this headcanon, they are done by the hand of his mother & wife. 

  - From wounds he suffered during Ronan’s attack on his people, Drax also suffers a degree of loss of feeling in his left leg.

  - Though among the wide range of alien species, it wouldn’t be seen as abnormal. Drax’s heart rate compared to a humans is particularly slow. Typically falling somewhere between 30 and 45 bpm.

  - After his near-drowning in the fluids on Knowhere, Drax suffers a certain amount of chest pain on a almost constant basis. However, it is far from enough to qualify as any more than a vague discomfort to him.

17 -Preferred mode of dress and rituals surrounding dress

There are no particulars to how Drax chooses to dress, save for his reasoning to never have a desire to wear a shirt. This goes beyond the fact that they simply will not comfortably fit his frame. It ties back to the mentioned importance of his scarification, wearing a shirt would hide a vast majority of the ritualistic scarring, and he considers that to be disrespectful to those who put the scars there in the first place.

27 -What is their biggest regret?

The obvious answer to this is simple: he regrets that he was unable to save his daughter & beloved during Ronan’s attack on his people. He regrets that he had not taken more time to spend with his daughter before she & her mother were taken from him, he believes there are many things that he missed, and many things he could have prevented. It is something he longs for, to see his daughter’s innocence once more & to see the soft side of Hovat that came with her nurturing of their daughter. He will always regret that he didn’t spend as much time as he could with the pillars of his world.
